• The Tequesta Mayor, Fire & Police have
been working on this project for 5 years.
• Private events and funds have been held
to raise funds.
• Tax dollars are not involved in this project.

Process of Project Implementation
• Project Planning
- Site Selection- SW of current fountain and right of the main entrance driveway
- Panel Members
- Develop Call to Artists
- Artist(s) Selection Process
- Submission to Palm Beach County Matching Grant Program
- Pending approval - a particular project is selected
- Monument is announced and installed
Call to Artists
• A Call to Artists will be distributed through
various channels.
• This 5 page document will include the
following criteria for submissions:
-Artist eligibility-credentials and qualifications
-Florida residency
- Proposal Requirements
- Community Outreach aspect
Artist and Project Selection
• A system is established for submissions.
• Panel Members meet to review.
• A short list is established and artist are
present there project in greater detail.

• Palm Beach County Art in Public Places is
offering a matching grant to municipalities.
• A successful public art grant application

- Exceptional Artistic Merit

- A maintenance and long term plan

• In conclusion
-The Project chosen will include:
• Appropriate artistic merit,
• ability to meet project goals and guidelines,
• long term maintenance plan.
- A successful public art project, stirs
commerce, entices tourism and satisfies
residents.
-The Lighthouse is an icon for Jupiter. We can
create an icon for Tequesta.
