IN-CAR MOBILE COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY
.~ ~ ~
As follow-up to the presentation I provided to Council on February 8, 2007, I
respectfully request approval to purchase the In-Car Mobile Computers. The cost of
the laptops is $66,360.00.
The Village Council has previously approved the In-Car Mobile Technology
Program (Resolution #30-06/07) and funded the project. The funds ($142,180.00) are
available in account #001-175-664.601; Police -Capital, Computer Equipment.
I am requesting that the Council award the contract for the purchase of the
laptops to Insight Public Sector, Inc.
Insight Public Sector, Inc. has an excellent reputation as a Panasonic dealer
and has worked with many local agencies. In addition, we will be able to leverage
the pricing from an existing contract; FLORIDA CONTRACT 250-000-03-1.
I want to thank you and the Council for the opportunity to present this
project for your consideration. I hope you find the documentation sufficient.
