HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance_439_07/23/1992ORDINANCE NO. 439 u rl ~J AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ', AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES: i "WATER" ARTICLE I AT SECTION 18-3(a) SO AS TO ~' AMEND THE MINIMUM MONTHLY SERVICE CHARGE; AMENDING SECTION 18-3(b) RELATING TO WATER RATES AND CHARGES, SO AS TO AMEND STEPPED RATE THRESHOLDS AND APPLICABLE QUANTITY RATES; ~ AMENDING SECTION 18-3(c)(2) RELATING TO FIRE ': PROTECTION CHARGE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES AND CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, as follows: I( Section 1. Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances of the 'Village relating to "Water" is hereby amended at Section 18- 3(a) to read as follows: (a) Minimum Monthly Service Charge. "(1) Sin le-Famil Residential . 9 Y $ 8.80 per dwelling unit (2) Multi-Family Residential. $ 8.80 per dwelling unit (3) Non-Residential: 5/8 - inch meter S 8.80 ~ 1.0 - inch meter $ 22.00 1.5 _ inch meter $ 44.00 2.0 inch meter $ 70.40 3.0 - inch meter 5132.00 4.0 - inch meter $220.00 ~ 6.0 - inch meter $440.00 where a single meter is installed in a water connection to a ibuilding having two (2) or more units, the minimum monthly service charge shall be not less than an amount equal to the number of units multiplied by the minimum charge for a 5/8 inch meter. A meter shall be installed in each water connection, whether public or private, except for private fire (connections." Section 2. Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village relating to "Water" is hereby amended at Section 18- 3(b) to read as follows: ,'"(b) Quantity Rate. Applicable to all quantities of water (shown by meter readings to have been delivered. (1) Residential Accounts, including Single-Family and Multi- Family Service classifications, monthly: For each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof up to 20,000 gallons delivered $1.44 For each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof above 20,000 up to 40,000 gallons delivered $2.40 For each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof for all quantities delivered above 40,000 gallons $3.30 (2) Non-Residential Accounts, including Commercial, Government and Irrigation Service classifications, monthly: For each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof pursuant to the Quantity Step Rate Table and applicable Gallonage Allowance Per Quantity Step Rate Table appearing below. Section 3. Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances of th Village 3(c)(2) e relating to "Water" is hereby amended at Section 18- to read as follows: "(2) Other areas $0.60 per meter per month except for services used solely for irrigation pur- poses." Section 4. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications of this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications, and to this end, the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable. Section 5. Repeal of Ordinances in Conflict. All other ordinances of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, or parts thereof which conflict with this or any part of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 6. Codification. This and made a part of the Official Village of Tequesta. Ordinance shall be codified Code of Ordinances of the ~ Section 7. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take leffect on August 1, 1992, for each complete billing cycle occuring thereafter. THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE WAS OFFERED by '~Councilmember Mackail who moved its adoption.
