McCollo Chief of Police Date: October 29, 2008 Subject: STINGER S-200 PROJECTILE STUN GUNS SYSTEMS . ; .:~ ___.T_'~ Attached for your consideration is an agenda item for the November 13, 2008; a request to purchase eighteen (18) Stinger S-200 Projectile Stun Gun Systems. These items were approved during the budget process. Funding for this purchase is available in the General Fund; account 001-175-664.600. The cost of the eighteen systems $17,662.00; the current available balance in the account is $34,000.00. This will leave a balance of $16,338.00 to purchase the remaining capital items approved in the budget for FY 2008-2009. I respectfully request that Council approve Resolution No. SO-08. RESOLUTION NO. 50-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, APPROVING A PROPOSAL FROM STINGER SYSTEMS OF TAMPA, FLORIDA, AS THE SOLE SOURCE PROVIDER, FOR EIGHTEEN S-200 PROJECTILE STUN GUN SYSTEMS IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,662.00, HAVING A FY 2008/2009 GENERAL FUND POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET ALLOCATION OF $34,000.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPLICABLE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta acknowledges the need to equip officers with aless-lethal weapon; WHEREAS, the Village Council in doing so, provides aless-lethal weapon for both the officer and public safety; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 The proposal from Stinger Systems of Tampa, Florida, for eighteen S-200 Projectile Stun Guns, in the amount of $17,662.00, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference as a part of Resolution No. 50-08 is hereby approved and the Village Manager of the Village of Tequesta is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the Village of Tequesta.
