The Society faces a severe budget adjustment due to slashed state and county grant awards - to the tune of $35,000! So we do need your help to keep up our full head of steam as we continue to enhance the center of your historic community. And haven't we accomplished a great deal in a very short time? The national designation that we have worked so diligently to obtain is now a reality and our favorite Lighthouse, along with 126 remarkable waterfront acres, is forever protected as a national monument! This year we have advocated, fundraised, preserved, collected, educated, exhibited, greeted and entertained over 57,000 visitors and school children at the site. Count another 125,000 people who enjoyed our traveling exhibits in other museums around the state, too. We finished a $335,000 upgrade to the lighthouse, saved a rare collection of Contact Period artifacts from the EBay "auction block," expanded our area of responsibility with the USCG, constructed a replica kitchen, porch and breezeway for the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, and created an inviting exterior exhibit area for visitors to enjoy. Plus, we became an official online Weatherbug station, with a live camera atop the Lighthouse just weeks away, thanks to our new partnership with WPEC-TV CBS 12. There's more, but you get the idea. Staff and our wonderful volunteers are doing a terrific job here at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum. And right now we need a little extra help. So here are three easy ways you can contribute: 1. Send us a check! It's tax deductible! 2. Give us your email for our e-newsletter so we can save printing/postage costs. 3. Do your holiday shopping in our exciting gift shop. Thank you in advance for your critical support. Generous members are the cornerstone of our successful Society. It is an honor to serve you.
