A RESOLUTION OF THE VII.,LAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE EVALUATION AND APPRAISAL
REPORT FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA; STATING THE INTENT OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL TO
AMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BASED UPON
RECOMMENDATIONS CONTAINED IN THE REPORT; AND
APPROVING TRANSMITTAL OF THE REPORT TO THE DEPARTMENT
OF CONIlVIUNITY AFFAIRS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 163.3191,
FLORIDA STATUTES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the state legislature of the State of Florida has mandated that all municipalities
draft and adopt comprehensive development plans to provide thorough and consistenrt planning with
regard to land within their corporate limits; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida (Village) has adopted the
Comprehensive Plan for the Village of Tequesta pursuant to the "Local Government Comprehensive
Planning and Land Development Regulation Act" (the Act); and,
WHEREAS, the Village's Comprehensive Plan (Plan) has been determined to be in
compliance with the provisions of the Act and Rule 9J-5 of the Florida Administrative Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Florida Legislature intends that local planning be a continuous and ongoing
process; and,
WHEREAS, Section 163.3191, Florida Statutes (F.S.), directs local goven~nunents to
periodically assess the success or failure of their adopted Plan to adequately address changing
conditions and stated policies and rules; and,
WHEREAS, Section 163.3191, F.S., also directs local governments to adopt amendments to
ensure that the Plan provides appropriate policy guidance for growth and development; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta, Village Council, sitting as Local Planning Agency, has
reviewed the Evaluation and Appraisal Report, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", held an advertised
public hearing, provided for participation by the public in the process, and rendered its
recommendations to the Village Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Council has reviewed the Evaluation and Appraisal Report and held
an advertised public hearing pursuant to Section 163.3191(6), F.S.;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUE5TA, FLORIDA:
Section l: The Village Council does hereby adopt the Evaluation and Appraisal Report
for the Comprehensive Plan of the Village of Tequesta, attached hereto and made a part hereof as
Exhibit "A".
Section 2: The Village Council does hereby state its intention to amend the
Comprehensive Plan of the Village of Tequesta in accordance with the recommendations contained in
the Evaluation and Appraisal Report.
Section 3. The Village Council does hereby approve transmittal of the Evaluation and
Appraisal Report to the Department of Community Affairs for the purpose of a sufficiency review in
accordance with Section 163.3191, Florida Statutes.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
Section 5. All Resolutions and parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are repealed.

The foregoing Resolution was offered by Vice Mayor Watkins, who moved to approve to adopt
for transmittal to DCA. The motion was seconded by Council Member Turnquest, and upon
being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and adopted this 10th day of May,
2007.
