HomeMy WebLinkAboutDocumentation_Regular_Tab 05_04/10/2008AGENDA VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA MEMORIAL COMMITTEE WORKSHOP Tuesday, January 8, 2008 Immediately following the 3:00 p.m. Joint Workshop Council Chambers 345 Tequesta Drive Tequesta, FL Call to Order and Roll Call The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jim Humpage at 4:18 p.m. A roll call was taken by Village Clerk Lori McWilliams. Present were: Mayor Jim Humpage, Vice Mayor Pat Watkins, Council Member Tom Paterno, Council Member Amero and Council Member Calvin Turnquest. Also in attendance were: Village Manager Michael R. Couzzo, Jr., Village Clerk Lori McWilliams, and Memorial Committee Members, Liz Schauer, Carlton Stoddard and Carl Hansen. Old Business 1. Discussion on Construction of a Citizens Memorial Mayor Humpage noted the initial proposal was for Public Safety and has progressed into adding a Village Memorial, the free standing Memorial dedicated to Public Safety being paid for by private funds and the Village Memorial dedicated to residents paid through public funds. Manager Couzzo stated that marble saved from the previous Village Hall. could be utilized for plaques that residents would purchase possibly costing the Village nothing. Vice Mayor Watkins agreed with the Mayor -who suggested simplicity and generalization for all residents on one plaque. A suggestion to purchase benches or monogrammed bricks for building a path way was also made. The consensus was to advertise ideas in Smoke Signals to allow residents the vote. Adjournment Council Member Amero moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Vice Mayor Watkins. The motion to adjourn carried by unanimous vote; therefore the meeting was adjourned at 5:11 p. m. Council Member Amero motioned to table the Annexation; seconded by Vice Mayor Watkins. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Adjournment Vice Mayor Watkins moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Council Member Amero.
