HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Special Meeting_10/14/1975• MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA October 14, 1975 A Public Hearing of the Village of Teauesta was held on Tuesday, October 14, 1975 at 7:00 P.M. in the Village Hall, Present were Little, Jones, Campbell, Baron and Yoder. Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. F~andolph, Village Attorney. The purpose of this Public Hearing, was to afford interested persons an opportunity to review the Comprehensive Plan prior to its adoption. A copy of the Comprehensive Plan and related documents were available for review in the Village Hall and notice of the meeting was published in the Courier newspaper on October 2, 1975. Mr. Henry Skokowski told the audience that pursuant to Special Legislation requiring Comprehensive ~ Planning, the Village of Tequesta had to adopt a • Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan will act as a guide and can be changed at anytime the Council so wisY~es to reflect the needs off' the Village of Teouesta. A.L. Hutchison Mr, A.L. Hutchison believes the Village of Teauestats people are putting ,too much into the Zoning Plan and Comprehensive Plan. ~:erbrrt Biggs, Att. Mr. Herbert Biggs, Attorney representing himself and Hobe Sound his clients, who own property on U.S. ~r`1, wanted to be assured that if their property on U.S..~1 would be changed from commerical to medium density, would they be notified by mail? P~ayor Little reassured him that both he and his clients would be notified by Certified Mail. ~,ti1m. Goose, Att. Mr. Trlilliam R. Boose, Attorney for NIr. & Mrs, zTBuz~' DiVosta discussed with the Council the problems they were concerned with on three (3) different areas in Tequesta owned by Mr. & NIrs. DiVos~a. The main concern. of Mr. & Mrs. DiVosta is a 30 acre tract of land on the- extreme Northwestern section of the .corporate limit. Mr. Boose pointed out that the land is now zoned far low density -2- 10--14-?5 -2 and would like it to remain that way with lot sizes of ~~ $,000 sq. ft., so that homes in the price range of $45,000 and $50,000 could be built. Robert Sylester Mr. Sylester represented the owners of eleven (11) acres along the railroad tracts and would like for it to remain .commercial and not be changed to single family. as purposed in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The 1~Tayor read a letter from Mr. Louis Kostick. Mr. Kostick owns 200 feet along U.S. ~1 and opposes any change. The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 P.M- Cy ese Colbert ~• r~ -3 -
