MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF'
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
October 2$, 1975
A Council Meeting of the Village of Tequesta
was held on Tuesday, October 2~, 1975 at 730 P.M.
in the Village Hall. Present were Little, Jones,
Campbell, Baron and Yoder. Also present were Robert
Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk
and John C. Randolph, Village Attorney. Opening
Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given
by Councilman Yoder. Jones moved, "the minutes
(September 23, 1975 Council Nieeting) be accepted as
submitted". The motion was adopted. Campbell moved,
t'that they (October 7, 1975 Special Council Meeting
minutes) be accepted". The motion was adopted.
Campbell moved, tithe report (Village Manager's
Report for September 21, 1975 through September 30, 1975)
be accepted as receivedtt. The motion was adopted.
• Campbell moved, ttit ( Village Manager's Report for
October 1, 1975 through October 25, 1975) be accepted
as recei~red". After some discussion the motion was
adopted.
Campbell moved, "it (Financial Statement for
September, 3975) be accepted as receivedi'. The motion
was adopted.
Campbell moved, "we accept it (Water Department
Financial Statement for September, 1975) as receivedtt.
The motion was adopted.
'etc P:imentel, Mr. Pimental was present to give Public Notice of
executive Dir. a meeting on October 31, 1975 with the Loxahatchee Environ-
~NCON mental Control District and Governmental Agencies,.-for
this area on related water problems and to answer any
questions the Council may-have. Baron moved, ttthat in
* view of the inquires we have rece moved of the Loxahatchee
Environmental Control District that~we,-the Water Committee,
Village Attorney and our water experts official attend
and discuss with them the problems we have on water". After
some discussion the motion was adopted.
The Village Manager read by title onlyfit an
• Ordinance of the Village of Tequesta, prohibiting the
drinking of intoxicating liquors- in public places within

the Village of Tequesta, defining public way, providing
• for permitting procedures, providing a penalty for
violation of the Ordinance, providing for the repealing
of all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in confl~.ct
herewith, providing for an e.E'fective date. Campbell
moved, 'ewe accept this ordinance as prepared". Votes
in favor of the motion were unanimous and therefore
Ordinance No. 230 was adopted on second reading.
Campbell moved, "that the Ordinance No. 6t,. as
prepared by our Village Attorney be approved". Little
read the three (3) Resolutions Martin County charged
against the Village of Tequesta and told Council he
believes the Council should accept the original Martin
County Ordinance No. 64. Campbell believes it's not
a good idea to insight additional law suits. Jones
felt the Village should stick with the 25~ surcharge.
Campbell withdrew her motion and Yoder withdrew his
second after advice from the Attorney that he did not
believe we were leaving the door open with the revised
Ordinance No. 6~..
Jones announced the Art Festival was going to be
December 6 and December 7 in Tequesta Park.
Cambbell moved, ?'that we send a letter in support
• of Chief Barid's stand of the County wide Fire District
(Barid is against a Countywide Fire District)". The
motion was adopted.
Baron wanted the minutes to show, "I'm not accepting
the letter we received from Martin County of the Resolut-,ion''
The meeting was adjourne at 10:00 P M.
