HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Special Meeting_03/29/1976• MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF THE TEQUESTA, FLORIDA March 29, 1976 A Special Council Meeting of the village of Tequesta was held on Monday, April 13 ,, 1976 at .9 :00 A.M. in the Village Hall. Present were Heron, B~wn, Campbell, Huggins and Yoder. Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John CW Randolph, Village Attorney. Mayor Campbell introduced Officials and guest attending the meeting (a list is so attached to these minutes). Mr. William B. Sydow, (fee & Jenson Consulting Engineers, read a letter dated March 26, 1976 which accompanied. the March, 1976 Review Report. Ntr. Sydow then reviewed-the report for Council. ~ _ Mr. John Harlow, Board~~member, Loxahatchee River Environ- mental ~nntrol District, read a letter attached to their report,':then reviewed their report with Council. The meeting was recessed for five (5) siinutes and reconvened at 10:38 A.M. Mr. Howard C. Osterman, Tri-Southern Utilities, Inc., told Council that water wall be ready at 60~ a gallon when the Village of Tequesta is ready. He told Council they would provide water to the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District as-the Village of Tequestats agency, but does not intend to let the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District to use this power against Tri+~Southern Utilities, Inc. Huggins asked the audience if there were any whan~may think the Village of Tequesta might-have problems getting the permits they heed. No~ane answered. Mr. Sydow told Council-that the existing time to connect to Tri-Southern is about ten (10) months. Mr. Harold ~b~ees, Martin County's Utilities Consultant, spoke to Council regarding two pear payback to Martin County residents. Mr. Jack A+Ia11oy, Central & Southern Florida Flood Control District told Council that the Village of Tequesta should have Martin County take ov®r the area we now service in Martin County and put their own cost to their residents. Mr. Malloy also told Council that it is okay for the Village of Tequesta to mix the Tri-Southern water with the Villagefs water for a while but the Village of Tequesta -3 8- 3-29-76 -2 has to continue the plans for the water plant. The Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District and Tri-Southern are to have a report ready for the April 13, 1976 meeting with the cost and other matters needed on the supply of 2 million g.p.d. to the Village of Tequesta Water System Yoder moved, "that a dual analysis be prepared by Tri-Southern and ENCON covering the Westerly and Easterly route up to and including two (2) million gallons per day". The motion was adopted. Yoder moved, "we accept this suggestion (limit the pumping on non-watering days to 1,200,000 gpd), to publicize this thing as indicated (sending letters out to customers on the Village of Tequesta Water System)". The motion was approved.
