MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQIIESTA, FLORIDA

A Special Council Meeting of the Village of Tequesta, was
held on Tuesday, May 1$, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. in the Village Hall.
Present were Baron, Brown, Campbell, Huggins and Yoder. Also
present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village
Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village Attorney. Councilman
Huggins gave a reading from "Virtue of Selfishness#' by Ayn Rand
and lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
motion was adopted.
Mayor Campbell read a letter from Gee & Jenson, dated
May 17, 1976, recommending that the existing restrictions on
water uses be removed. Baron moved, t;that the jist of the letter
be complied with and we remove the wa#~er restrictions". The
Mr. William Sydow, Gee & Jenson :Consulting Engineer, read
his letter to Council dated May 1~, 1976 giving a brief s3~nopsis
on the preliminary report by the Technical Advisory Water Committee.
Mr. Sydow then reviewed the report for Counc3tl and the audience.
Mr. William, Palm Beach-County Health Department, told
Council that they can see no problems with the blending of Tri-
Southern's and Tequesta's water and that either the t'Mid-Western"
or the ~"~iestern" route would be all`:`.right~ vath.bhnm. After a
lengthy discussion from Council and input from the floor, Brown
moved, trto accept the Technical Advisors' recommendation that the
Village of Tequesta Water Department secure treated water from
Tri-Southern Utilities via the Eastern r~rute alternate AlA bridge
witha 20" pipe having a capacity of ~, MGD-and with the metering
point at the youth river edge, subject to ~ contract being signed".
The motion was adopted.
Brown moved, nto authorize Gee & Jenson to proceed with the
plans and specifications to construct a line from Tequesta's water
facilities via the Eastern roube to Tri-Southern Utilities interconnect
at Tndiantown Road and to proceed with plans and specifications for
the necessary system improvements'. The motion was adopted.
Input was also heard from Mr. Jve B. Wise, William R. Hough &
Coq~pany, Financial Consultants, in reference to the necessary
financing to be decided on by Village Council action.

Brown moved, "to instruct the Village Attorney and W.R. Hough & Co.
to coordinate with Bond Counsel to draft a Bond Resolution and a
Resolution of Award to sell an amount of bonds sufficient to finance
the Eastern connection and other related improvements and including
an amount sufficient to retire the Tax Anticipation Notes
maturing December 15, 1976". The motion was adopted.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 P•M•
