HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Regular_07/13/1976C~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA July 13, 1976 A Council Meeting of the Village: of Tequesta was held on Tuesday, July 13, 1976 at 7:30 P.M, in the Village Hall. Present were Baron, Brown, Campbell, Huggins and Yoder. Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village ,Attorney. Opening Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given by Councilman Yoder. Mayor Campbell gave 'announcements. Yoder moved, "that a letter be prepared and sent to Harman Shield, about the protection of the river,(Loxahatchee River), etc.,". The motion was adopted. Council agreed to discontinue' the distribution of daily police reports to each Council member. Minutes of the June 15, 1976 Special Council Meeting, the June 22, 1976 Council Meeting (as amended) and the Village Manager's Report for June 20, • through July i0, 1976 were received. There was input from the floor from Mr. Wm. Halas on Beacon Street. Huggins moved, ?'that this item be included on the Special Council Meeting on July 20, 1.976 at 7:30 P.Me" The motion was adopted. Council discussed at 1~;ng~th the parking. of vans, boats, trailers and recreational vehicles in front yards. Council instructed the Village Attorney to have the recreational vehicle ordinance ready for first reading at the July 27, 1976 Council Meeting. The Village Manager gave first reading-of an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 225 to provide for the deletion of Sections 2 and 3 thereof and providing that the provisions of this Ordinance shall be retroactive to all permits issued under the terms of Ordinance No. 225, since January 14, 1976. Brown moved, 'that first reading of this Ordinance be adopted". The motion was adopted with Campbell opposing. Mr. Arthur Meeks, Robert E. Owens Associates, was present and briefed Council on the Tequesta Drive Improvements progress. Tequesta Drive completion date has been pushed back to November of this year because of the easement problems the County is having on Old Dixie. -74- 7-13-76 -2 Council discussed the amended Agreement for bulk sale water between Tri-Southern Utilities Company, Inc. and the Village of Tequesta. There were a few changes made by the Council. They talked about condemnation procedures against Jupiter Marina and that the D.O.T: has sand that there will be a problem getting the permit from F.E.C. for the crossing on the railroad. Paul Culler presented a letter to Council vn his feelings toward the Agreem~;nt . " -:.Huggins moved, "tha t' the: Council accept `the wdrdng that i.s currently in the bulk sale water service Agreement concerning "Description of Service" as acceptable n. The motion was adopted with Baron opposing. Baron moved, "that this Resolution (authorizing the execution of the bulk sale water service. Agreement between the Village of Tequesta and Tri-Southern Utilities Company, Inc) as prepared,~be accepted as read". The motion was adopted. Brown moved, '~to have a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 20, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. to consider the reading of a Bond Ordinance in regard to the financing of the water connection to Tri-Southern Utilities Company and further to consider problems involving Beacon Street n. The motion was adopted. Items under new business were tabled until the July 27, 1°76 Regular Council Meeting. Huggins told Council that the town of Jupiter said they cannot do the job, for $2,000.00, for a recreation program.. • and that Gary Preston, Recreation Director, will attend the Leisure Time meeting to get a program together.
