MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
August 3, 1976
A Special Council Meeting of the Village of Tequesta
was held on Tuesday, August 3, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. in the
Village Hall. Present were Baron, Brown, Campbell, Huggins
and Yoder. Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager,
Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village
Attorney.
The Village Manager gave second reading by "title only"
of an Ordinance providing for the issuance of not exceeding
$3,540,000 Water Revenue Certificates, series 1976•
Mr. George Weber, President of the Tequesta Association of
Voters and Taxpayers read a letter to Council. The Council
discussed, as did the P~zblic their feelings on the Ordinance.
Brown moved, "for adoption of an Ordinance providing for the
refunding of certain outstanding obligations and the acquisi-
tion and construction of additions, extensions, and improve-
r~~ents to the Water.System of the Village of Tequesta, Florida;
• ~?roviding for the issuance of not exceeding $3,540,000 Water
P~avenue Certificates, series 1976, to pay the costs thereof;
>roviding for the rights of the holders of such certificates;
;providing for the payment thereof; and making certain other
covenants and agreements in connection with the issuance
of such certificatesf'. The motion was passed, therefore
Ordinance No. 237 was passed and adopted on second reading.
Council then discussed the rates proposed by Gee & Jenson,
Consulting Engineers. They also discussed the rate differences
between a 1" pipe and a 5/$" pipe. The Village Attorney
informed Council that they will have to adopt a rate Ordinance
giving a general guideline on rates. Council talked at length
about the crossing to Beach Road that has been requested by
several residents on Beach Road. There was input from the
Public on this matter.
