HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Regular_09/29/1976 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA September 29, 1976 A Council Meeting of the Village of Tequesta was held on Wednesday, September 29, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. in the Village Hall. Present were Baron, Brown, and Huggins. Campbell and Yoder were on vacation. Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager and Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk. The Village Attorney was not present due to illness. Opening Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given by Councilman Baron. The agenda was approved as changed and Vice-Mayor Brown gave the announcements. The Village Manager's Report for August 28, through September 18, 1976,-the Financial Statement for August, 1976 and the Water Department Financial Statement for August, 1976 were received. There were comments from the visitors. William B. Sydow, Gee & Jenson Engineers-Architects-Planners, Inc. read his letter to Council dated September 14, 1976, finding . the proposed 1976/~~ Budget adequate to meet the requirements of the 1967 Revenue Certificate Issue. Council talked at_:l~:ng~h of the proposed Water Department Budget. Huggins moved, "that we accept the Village of Tequesta Water, Department Budget for 1976/77". The motion was adopted. The Village M~.ngg~r,gave second reading, by title only, of an Ordinance of the Village of Tequesta, Florida restricting the parking of commercial vehicles and trucks over three-quarter ton rated capacity within residential areas; providing exceptions thereto; providing regulations relating to the parking and storing of certain trucks and commercial vehicles of three--quarter ton rated capacity or under and recreational boating and camping equipment in residential areas; setting forth conditions therefore providing penalties for violation of this ordinance and specifically repealing Section 1, subsection (j) of Ordinance No. 213 and other ordinances in conflict herewith. Baron moved, "we approve this ordinance". The motion was approved therefore Ordinance No. 239 ,was passed and adopted on second reading. Baron moved, "to approve the revisions. (to the 1975/76 General Fund Budget) ". The motion was adopted. Huggins moved, "we accept the revisions to the 1975/76 Water Department (Operation & Maintenance Fund) Budget". The motion was adopted. r 1 LJ Page -2 The Village Manger talked about the bids that the Village received on Statutory Life Insurance (line of duty). Huggins moved, "to accept the bid of the Reliance Insurance Company for line of duty insurance". The motion was adopted. Baron moved, "we accept the annexation petition of Charles R.L. White and Jeanne B. White". The motion was adopted. The Village Manager read in full an Ordinance of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, annexing certain parcels of land to the territorial limits of the Village of Tequesta with an R-lA Zoning Classification. Baron moved, "we approve the first reading of the Ordinance regarding the annexation of Charles R.L. White and Jeanne B. White". The motion was adopted. Baron gave a report on the "life line" at Carling Park Beach. Huggins reported on COG Leisure Time Committee and the pillage Manager talked about the traffic lights at Tequesta Drive and Seabrook Road. The meeting was adjourne at 9:22 P. . Cyr se Colbert •
