HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Regular_06/10/1975 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COIINCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA June 10, 1975 The first Council meeting for the month of June was held on Tuesday, June 10, 1975 at 7:30 P.NI. in the Village Ha11. Present were Little, Jones, Campbell and Baron. Councilman Taylor had sept- a letter of resignation, dated May 29, 1975, to Council and was not in attendace. Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village Attorney. The meeting was opened with Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag by Councilman. Baron. Mayor Little read the letter of resignation from Councilman William J. Taylor. Campbell moved, "with regret we accept the resignation," Baron moved, "to amend we send a letter of "Thank You". The motion was adopted. Baron moved, nominate 147 Point Circle, Tequesta Vote on the motion was: Mr. Joseph D. Yoder, Jr., (to Council Seat 1).r~ Little Jones. Baron Campbell -For -For -For -Fo r and was therefore adopted. Campbell moved, "to appoint Mr. Yoder, Tax Collector." The vote on the motion was: Little -~'or Jones -For Baron- -For Campbell -For i and was therefore adopted. The Village Manager gave the Oath of Office for Council Seat One and Tax Collector. to Mr. Yoder. Mayor Little welcomed Mr. Yoder to the Council. Campbell moved,'that we accept the application (Tec{uesta Country Club Community to construct entrance gate at North P-lace and Country Club Drive) for the gate." -66- 6-10-75 -2 The Village Attorney told Council he would perfer that a "whole harmless" clause be added to the Agreement between Tequesta Country Club Community Association and the Village of Tequesta. Mr. Howard. Brown, President, assured Council that the "whole harmless" .clause would be added, if the Agreement was approved. The motion made by Campbell was amended to read, "that. we accept the application for the gate with a "whole harmless" clause added to the Agreement." 'The motion was adopted. The Village Manager read a Maintenance Agreement, traffic signals, between Palm Beach County and the Village of Tequesta. Campbell moved,"we accept it." The motion was adopted. The Village Attorney read a proposed Resolution authorizing the execution of the traffic signals maintenance agreement between the State of Florida Department of Transportation and the Village of Tequesta. Campbell moved, "that we adopt the Resolution. Vote an the motion was: Little -For Janes -For Campbell -For Baron -For Yoder -For and Resolution No. 12-74/75 was therefore adapted on firsts reading. The Village Manager read a 8esolution of the Village Council regarding support of State acquisition of headwaters of the Loxahatchee River under the endangered lands act. Campbell moved, 'tthat we accept Resolution." Ater some discussion Campbell tabled her motion. Campbell moved, "we accept with regret the resignation of Robert F. Abbott, Chairman of -the Zoning Board of Adjustment." The motion was adopted. Jones asked the Village Manager send a letter of "Thank You" to Mr. Abbott. Council agreed to e:lim~nate .the ;mini ~C,o.~.tn;cil meeting, the first Council meeting of the month, and replace it with a minimum meeting, with an adjournment time set before the meeting by Council. The meeting was adjourned at $:06 P.M.
