HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Special Meeting_08/22/1975;` • MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA August 22, 1975 A Special Council Meeting of the Village of TeQUesta was held on Friday, August 22, 1975 at 7:31 P.M. in the Village Hall. Present were Little, Jones, Campbell. and Baron. Yoder is currently on vacation. Also present were Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village Attorney. Robert Harp, Village Iv[anager was on vaction. The meeting was opened with Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag by the Village Clerk. The purpose of the Special Council meeting is to .consider the Comprehensive Planning Goals and Objectives Committee Report. Mr. Howard Brown, Chairman of the Committee, introduced Steven L. Devine and Mrs. Philip J. Corr, members of the Committee who were present. Members of the Committee who were not present were, John Giba, Carroll D. Head and Thomas C. Johannes (assisted by F.D. "Bud'' Jordan ). Henry Skokowski, Planner, (Area Planning Board) was also present. Mr. Brown, reviewed the 'TCommunity Development Goals" in each of the following areas: Urban Form and Physical Appearance Planning Considerations Residential Development Commercial Development Industrial Development Community Facilities Community Utilities Transportation Annexation Implementation The Committee did not work on the Goals and Objectives of the Community Finance, because they were awaiting the return of the Village Manager from his vacation. Mr. Brown went through each page of the report with Council, for their approval. There were certain changes made by Council. -$3 - g-22-75 -page 2 On page nine (9) Council changed the Goals to read: light industrial, warehousing and ?~~holesaling ", ~ ~. Z'~.t. 1. F-' ~_~. ~~. a+. ~~, T"'.j (`i... ]_Z,r F, ~.',r ~~~ j ~rl ~~ri 8. T'E', r~ . . . . Jones renuested that "identify and correct existing drainage problems in the Village'Y be added to the Objectives. On page ten (10) letter "C '" of the Objectives was deleted. On page eleven (11) Council wanted a statement of continued support of Teauesta Park and bicycle paths added under the Recreation Objectives. Also that the Recreation Objectives include the continued support of the North County First Aid Squad and its program. Under Community Utilities, page 12 (b) Council ~~>>anted the word "wells" and "as a potable water conservation measure private wells, as approved by the Village, may be permitted" deleted. On page fourteen (14) Little requested, "a Committee be set up to present facts to those who would like to be annexed into the Village of Tequesta" be added to the to the Objectives. Mr. Henry Skokowski recommended that Council-adopt `~~he Comprehensive Planning Goals and Objectives by • '~'rdinanee. After some discussion Council decided ':o out the item on the next Council Meeting Agenda and to ask the advice of the Village Attorney if the plan could be adopted by a Resolution instead of an Ordinance. Council also agreed to give any other correction, addition, or deletion they may have to Campbell to give to the Planner, t,o be submitted in the Report.
