MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF
THE VILLAGE OF TERUESTA, FLORIDA
August 26, 1975
A Public Hearing of the Village of Tequesta was
held on Tuesday, August 26, 1975 at 7:00 P.M, in the
Village Hall. Present were Jones, Campbell and Baron.
Little was called out of town suddenly because of
illness in the family and Yoder was on vacation. Also
Present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese
Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village
Attorney. The Village Manager read the Notice which.
vas published in the Post-Times on August 17, 1975•
The Notice read:- Notice of Tax Increase; the Village
of Tequesta proposed to increase your property taxes
by 2~..32~. A Public Hearing on the increase will be
held on August 26, X975 at 7:00 P.M., in the Village
Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida.
Campbell reminded Council that a consultant to
be retained by the Village for the Villagers Compre-
hensive Planning was not in the budget. The Village
I'~Ianager said the cost would probably be around $3,x.00
to $3,600 a year depending on what we-had the Consulting
Firm do.
The Village Manager brought to the Councilrs attention
there was one more item not in the budget, which was
overlooked and that was the two laving of Beacon Street.
Campbell asked the Village Manager if he thought the
legal problems would be solved soon and should it be
put in the budget now. .The Village Manager thought the
~_~roblems would. be solved and the cost could be put in
~~aith the Tequesta Drive Improvement project.
The Village manager also stated that the cost of
the consultant for the Comprehensive Planning could come
out of the proposed budget without an additional increase
to the budget.
The Village Manager reviewed the highlights of the
Income and various expenses in the budget.,
John Giba Mr. John Giba asked the Village Manager-what the
7~ Fairview 7/ cost of living was based on. The Village NTanager
E replied the cost of statistics was 9.1~ and for. the
months of June and July it was up to 9.7~.

Nirs. Jesse Cannon Mrs. Jesse Cannon asked Council what happened to
39$ Beacon S-!, the-money put aside for Beacon Street. The Village
,~ Manager replied that the money was absorbed into the
Tequesta Drive Improvement project funds.
~Tm. Tatem Mr. ~Tilliam Tatem asked the Village Manager what
~ Garden St the increase in the millage was. The Village Manager
replied that the millage is ~..764~. and compared to
3.666 mills last year.
Council set September 9, 1975 at 730 P.M., for
the final hearing on the budget.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:x.4 P.M.
