Dear Michael:
For some months now, economic news has dominated the headlines and public discourse.
Who can guarantee that future generations will be prepared to face the future? Who is teaching
our children to live within their means and make sound financial decisions? Who is teaching our
children the value of an education, and expending every effort to stem the skyrocketing drop out
rate (now approaching one out of three nationally)? The answer is simple: Junior Achievement of
the Palm Beaches!
For nearly 90 years, Junior Achievement has taught financial literacy, work-force readiness and
entrepreneurship. Here in Palm Beach, Martin and Hendry Counties, over 27,000 students (K
through 12) annually participate in Junior Achievement programs. I have enclosed a letter of
support from Dr. Art Johnson, Superintendent of the School District of Palm Beach County, and
one of Junior Achievement's most vocal advocates. Dr. Johnson eloquently speaks to the
importance of Junior Achievement in the classroom.
With the economic downturn, school districts and corporations have had to make difficult
choices. Funding for programs like Junior Achievement is being reduced, or in some cases,
eliminated. Having experienced a period of steady growth, we do not want to see our
educational programs slashed. We need the support of the local business community now more
than ever before.
We are turning to you! Junior Achievement is not another charity asking for a donation. We are
your business partner asking you to invest in your future. Your contribution today will ensure a
trained work-force and an educated consumer base tomorrow!
We are asking members of the business community to make abudget-friendly, tax-deductible gift
of $1,000.00. Businesses that contribute at the $1,000 level will receive special recognition as
our "Business Achievers". Throughout the year, your business will be recognized at all Junior
Achievement events. Businesses that contribute at the $500.00 level will receive recognition as
our "Business Partners." Businesses that contribute $300.00 will receive recognition as our
"Business Supporters." You may also make a personal donation at any level you deem
appropriate. In return for your tax-deductible donation, we will include your company's name on
our JA Website. In addition, your company will be listed on an attractive Donor Recognition
Wall to be prominently displayed at our Junior Achievement offices, where some 8,000 students,
parents, teachers and volunteers pass through annually. Join us today. Partner with us today.
Consider the future... and then consider returning your donation to Junior Achievement in the
self-addressed envelope we have provided.
With respect,
James S. Gavrilos, President ~~ °~°~~~~, ~ ~

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
November 24, 2008
RE: Junior Achievement
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write this letter of endorsement on behalf of Junior Achievement. As
one of our key curricular programs within the Palm Beach County School System, the
purpose of Junior Achievement is multi-dimensional. First, this program teaches
students the economic principles underpinning our free enterprise system of economics.
Second, the provision of hand-ons activities allows students to experience first hand
concepts such as marketing, management, sales, profit and loss, and entrepreneurship.
Junior Achievement continues to deliver an important skit! set to some 27,000 of our
170,000 students and support and expansion for this program is greatly appreciated.
We encourage businesses to sponsor classes and/or an entire school.
With these thoughts in mind, !give Junior Achievement my highest endorsement
without any reservation.

Dear Friend of the Sanctuary,
November 20, 2008
Season's greetings! It has been another busy year for us at the Sanctuary. Our wildlife hospital treated over
4,500 sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals ranging from songbirds to bald eagles, deer, otters, bobcats, squirrels,
turtles and much more. Over 100,000 children and adults visited the Sanctuary and participated in our education
programs, exhibits, and tours. Enclosed, please find our current newsletter that will update you on our latest activities.
We have all felt the crunch of the current economy, experts say that it will get better soon and not to panic.
We have made our own cutbacks and tightened our expenses, but there simply is no way to stop the injured animals
from coming in. We can't ignore the owl that was hit by a car, the pelican tangled in fishing line, the orphaned baby
fox, or the rabbit that was attacked by a dog. Even during these tough times, the animals still need our help. We need
your financial support in order to be able to treat the animals and get them back out into the wild where they belong.
It is exciting to see how much the Sanctuary accomplishes each year. However, we are only able to do so with
the help of our friends and members. Remember, the Sanctuary is not a government funded facility; our support
comes from caring people just like you! In order for us to continue to provide our valuable services to the
community, we need your support! Your involvement is essential to the success of the important work we do to help
injured animals.
Your generosity will go a long way in helping the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary fulfill its mission. Your tax-
deductible contribution will allow the Sanctuary to care for the increasing numbers of injured animals we see each
year, and to continue to provide educational opportunities to children and adults.
The Sanctuary has earned its reputation as one of the country's top wildlife rehabilitation and environmental
education facilities. Please continue supporting the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary by donating just $25, or more if you can.
Your donation will have a value that will affect thousands of injured animals, and reach hundreds of thousands of
children and adults through our education programs. Just imagine what it would be like if there was no place to bring
injured wildlife, or what would happen to the hundreds of animals that have found refuge at the Busch Wildlife
Sanctuary. We need your help; the animals need your help!
Thar_k you for your interes± ar_d support in preserving Florida's wildlife and natural resources!
Sincerely,
~~~~
David Hitzig
Executive Director
