HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Workshop_07/01/1974MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE COUNCIL • OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA The Village Council held a Workshop Meeting at 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 1, 1974 in the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Councilmembers present were: Little, Leone, Campbell and Taylor, Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager, Police Chief Henry M. Dusenbery and Recreation Director Gary Preston. Vice-Mayor Jones had advised she would be out of town for this Workshop Meeting. Mr. John Giba and Mr. John Roberson, members of the original Wage and Salary Review Committee were also present, The Council further discussed the report of the Wage and Salary Review Committee feeling that the job descriptions were. generally satisfactory subject to several minor changes and were somewhat concerned whether or not the rates in some of the grades and steps were high enough at this time. The Village Manager said he believed he could keep abreast of-.the cost of living and wages for this general area and be able, with the assistance of department heads,to provide merit review on an `annual basis, thus eliminating the need for a merit retrieve committee, The Council discussed the necessity of naming an Ad Hoc Committee to especially compare the Villages present retirement plan with the State Retirement System and recommend to the Village Council in this regard., The various fringe benefits presently effective were explained and it was generally agreed these and those recommended by the, Wade and Salary Review Committee should be reviewed by the proposed committee with final submission of recommend- ations to the Village Council. The Village Manager said he would contact Mr. Shiplett who might have ..qualifications to serve on such an Ad Hoc C©mmittee and Mr. Moon and Mr. McCaile~y w+eTe to be asked if they would serve on the committee. The Council set a tentative date of July 30, 1974 for the first Budget Workshop Meeting, The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M. Respectfully submitted, obert Harp Village l~ianager
