COUNCILMEN OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
A Public Hearing was held by the Councilmen of the Village of
Tequesta at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 15, 1972 at the Village Hall.
Councilmen present were Messrs: Barr, Cunningham, Little and Frank.
Mr. Russell was not in attendance as he was out of town. Also present
was Robert Harp, Clerk.
The Clerk read the published notice of the hearing which
showed it had been called to act upon the application of Alxnont
Properties, Inc. requesting that the Zoning Classification for their
property as described in the notice of hearing be changed from C-2
Wholesale Commercial and Light Industrial District to R-2 Multiple
Family Dwelling District. The hearing was advised due notice of the
hearing had been published in the Beacon News July 27, 1972 and all
property owners located within 500 feet of the subject property had
been notified by letter. The Clerk also advised that no written or
verbal comments in support of or in opposition to the application had
been received.
The Clerk-showed on the map where the property was located
and reminded the Council that they had recently changed the zoning
classification of the other lands owned by Dorner on Cypress Drive
• from C-2 to R-2. The Councilmen agreed the proposed request was an
up-grading of the area classification.
Mr. Harry Finlay, who lives on [~Ti11ow Road directly west
of the subject property stated he had no objection to the change but
questioned whether or not the builder would construct a fence along
the-rear property line. The Village will seek to have the owner
construct a proper fence or screen when the plans-for the property are
submitted.
Mr. A. L. Hutchison suggested that the Council go slow on
such a change until the zoning report is complete and has been reviewed,
The Council re-iterated they believed this to be an improvement over
C-2 zoning and was compatible to the classification of lands to the
north-and east of the property along Cypress Drive.
Cunningham moved, seconded by Frank that an Ordinance
providing a change in zoning classification from C-2 to R-2 for the
subject property be prepared. The vote on the motion was:
Frank - For the motion
Little - For the motion
Cunningham - For the motion
Barr - For the motion
and Evas therefore passed unanimously.
Hearing adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
~~ j
