HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Board of Adjustment_02/28/1972MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUEST A, FLORIDA A Public Hearing was held by the Zoning Board of AdjustJr-ent at 8:00 P.I~i., Monday, February 28, 1972 at the Village Hall. Board members present were Messrs: Hutchison, Webster, Head and Marsland, Also present was Robert Harp, Clerk of the Board. John Nf, Good had advised the Clerk he would be unable to attend the meeting. The two new members of the Board, Carrol D, Head and Hugh W. Marsland were welcomed to the Board. The Clerk advised that the Board should elect a Chairman, Yice-Chairman and Clerk of the Board. Webster moved, second by Marsland and unanimously passed that A. L. Hutchison be Chairman. Marsland moved, seconded by Head and unanimously passed that John M. Good be Vice-Chairman. Hutchison moved, seconded by Webster that Robert Harp be the Clerk of the Board, Chairman Hutchison read the published notice of the Hearing. The Clerk read the set-back requirements fo.r the R-1 Single Family Dwelling District from the Zoning Ordinance and Chairman Hutchison read the powers and duties of the Zoning Board from the Zoning Ordinance. Mr. L. E. Owens, contract purchaser of the subject lot (Lot 1, Block 21, Jupiter in the Pines, Section "B") had prepared a blown up plot plan for his proposed house for the Board to look at. The plot plan showed the peculiar shape of the lot. The Clerk discussed the proposed placement of the house on the lot as shown on the plot plan. Mrs. Lister, owner of Lot 2, Block 21, questioned where the set-back of the house would be in relation to the front of her residence and was shown same by the drawing of the twenty-five foot (25') front set-back line on the plot plan. There were no objections to the proposed location of the house on the lot. Mr. Owens said it was to be his own personal residence. A11 the residents of the area in attendance at the Hearing said a house on the lot would improve the appearance of the area. Webster moved, seconded by Marsland that L.E, and Yiolet A. Owens be permitted to construct a residence on Lot 1, Block 21, Jupiter in the Pines, Section "B" with the set-backs as shown on the plot plan which is marked "Exhibit A". The vote on the motion was: Head - For Marsland - For Webster - For Hutchison - For and the motion was thereby unanimously passed. The Hearing was adjourned at 8:25 P.M.
