HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_15-05/06_10/03/2005RESOLUTION NO. 15-05/06 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA ADOPTING THE NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NIMS) AS REQUIRED BY HOMELAND SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE - 5. WHEREAS, Homeland 5), February 28, Management System, Security Presidential Directive (HSPD - 2003) established the National Incident and WHEREAS, the NIMS establishes a single, comprehensive approach to disaster incident management to ensure that all levels of government across the nation have the capability to work efficiently and effectively together using a national approach to disaster incident management; and (WHEREAS, the NIMS approach for federal, together to prepare disaster incidents complexity; and provides a consistent, nationwide state and local governments to work for, respond to, and recover from regardless of cause, size or NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Village of Tequesta adopts the National Management System (NIMS) as its system for preparing for and responding to disaster incidents. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Vice Mayor Watkins, who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Council Member Genco, and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Jim Humpage Pat Watkins Geraldine A.
