MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE
ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
A meeting was held by the Zoning Board of t'ldjustment of
the Village of Tequesta at 7:50 P.M., Monday, March 29, 1971, at
the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Board
members present ~,rere Messrs: Webster, Hutchison, Shiplett, Good
and Gifford. tLlso in attendance were Mr. I. L. Ellwood and
Mr. Harry Kuch.
The Clerk advised that new officers of the Board should
be elected. Good moved, seconded by Gifford and unanimously
passed that Ray D. Shiplett be Chairman of the Board. Good moved,
seconded by Hutchison and unanimously passed that Harry N. Gifford,
Jr. be Vice-Chairman of the Board. Gifford moved, seconded by
Shiplett and unanimously passed that Robert Harp be Clerk of the
Board•
The members of the Board and their terms of office are
as follows:

At 8:00 P.ri. the Board held a Public Bearing. The Clerk
advised that notice of the hearing had been published in the
Beacon News March 11, 1971 and that all property o~,mers within
500 feet of the su'oject property had been sent letters advising
of the Hearing.
The Hearing was advised that the rr~eeting was being held
to act upon the application of I. L. and Margery R. Ellwood,
ot~,~ners of Lot 8, Block 3, Country Club Point (28 Leeward Circle)
to reduce the front yard set back requirement from twenty five
(25) feet to fifteen (15) feet because the subject lot is on a
cul-de-sac. A plot plan showing the placement of the proposed
house on the lot was shot~~ to the Board. The plot plan showed
that all other set backs greatly exceeded the required minimum
set backs on the rear and sides of the structure. It was stated
the front of the house would be in approximately the san1e line
Frith other residences on the street. The Board members had each
been given a sketch of the general area around the subject

The Clerk advised that letters in support of the appli-
cation had been received from Richard H. 5wallosa (Lot 10, Bloclc 3),
Miles T. Kadlec (Lot 9, Bloclc 3) and E, P. Eldridge (Lots 14 and
15, Bloclc 3) and that no other written or verbal comments had been
received.
Hutchison stated he had looked at the subject site and
questioned some of the residents in the area and they had no
objections~to the application. Hutchison mtoved, seconded by
Webster that the request of I. L, and Margery R, Ellwood to reduce
the front yard set back on Lot 8, Bloclc 3, Country Club Point,
(28 Leeward Circle) be granted. The vote on the motion was:
Shiplett - For the Motion
Gifford - For the motion
Good - For the Motion
Webster - For the Motion
Hutchison - For the Motion
The Clerk was instructed to notify the interested
parties of the Boards decision in this matter.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 P.A1.
