A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, REVISING
APPENDIX C, IN CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE VI, PERMIT FEES, SEC.14-
152, BUILDING PERMITS; WHEREAS APPENDIX C, PERMIT FEES IS
HEREBY OFFICIALLY ADOPTED BY THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the current fee schedule adopted in 1975 is obsolete; and
WHEREAS, the new fee schedule will provide for actual operating costs, and
WHEREAS, the new fee schedule Appendix C, Permit Fees of the Village of Tequesta
is hereby officially adopted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 -The Village Council of the Village of Tequesta hereby adopts the revised
Appendix C, Permit Fees, as referenced in Chapter 14, Section 14-152, Building
Permits, and is officially adopted by this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember Watkins,
who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Paterno, and
upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

APPENDIX C
PERMIT FEES
(A) BUIILDING PERMIT FEES:
1. Minimum Fee: $75.
2. Building permit applicants for new or replacement commercial buildings,
new or replacement multi-family buildings and new or replacement duplexes shall pay a
non-refundable $3,000 fee at the time of filing for a building permit. Building permit
applicants for a new or replacement conventional single-family residences shall pay a
non-refundable $1,500 fee at the time of filing for a building permit: Building permit
applicants for a new or replacement modular homes shall pay anon-refundable $750 fee
at the time of filing for a building permit. Building permit applicants for a new or
replacement mobile home are exempt from paying an application fee at the time of filing.
Upon approval and permitting the application fee shall be deducted from any other
amount which may be due and owing under the other terms of this subsection.
3. Buildings including balconies, additions, garages, enclosures and
accessory structures, for each 100 square feet of enclosed area or a fraction thereof:
residential $30; commercial $35
4. Structures other than buildings and miscellaneous construction (unless
specified herein) for each $1,000 of cost or a fraction thereof: residential $35;
commercial $40.
5. Seal coat parking lot; re-striping, for each $1,000 of cost or a fractional
part thereof: residential $30; commercial $40.
6. State approved modular units (building only, electrical, plumbing,
mechanical require separate permits): residential $650; commercial $300.
7. Foundations for modular units (slabs, auger/pilings, columns or tie beam):
residential $200; commercial $300.
8. Flatwork and decks on grade (concrete, wood, etc.), for each 1000 square
feet or a fractional part thereof: residential $35; commercial $45.
9. Fences and walls (all types), for each 100 lineal feet or a fractional part
thereof: residential $35; commercial $45.
10. Tile and metal roofing (including repairs and new roofs), for each roofing
square or a fractional part thereof: residential $7; commercial $8.
11. Modified, built-up, shingle roofing (including repairs and new roofs), for
each roofing square or a fractional part thereof: residential $6; commercial $7.
12. Air conditioner stands on roofed areas and waterproofing for roofed areas:
residential $35; commercial $45.
13. Swimming pools including aft. wide deck surround (plumbing and
electrical excluded): residential $500; commercial $800.
14. Spa and hot tubs (up to 12ft. diameter) (decks plumbing and electrical
excluded): residential $100; commercial $200.
15. Cisterns (non-potable): residential $250; commercial $350.
16. Mobile home installation, tie downs, blocking, setbacks and stairs:
residential $300; commercial $500.
17. Temporary construction/sales trailer annual fee, removal required before
certificate of occupancy will be issued: residential $200; commercial $250.
18. Tents (temporary only-3 day maximum): residential $50; commercial
$100.
19. Tanks (all types)-for each 1,000 gallons of capacity or fractional part
thereof: residential $9.00; commercial $10.
20. Moving building: residential $350; commercial $600.
21. Demolition of interior or exterior of any structure, for each 1,000 square
feet or fractional part thereof: residential $80; commercial $90.
22. Gutter, downspouts, french drains: for each 1001ineal feet or fractional
part thereof: residential $35; commercial $45.
23. Awnings or canopies, for each 100 square feet or a fractional part thereof:
residential $35; commercial $55.
24. Hurricane shutters, retrofit or new: residential or commercial $50.
25. Certification of hurricane protection for insurance purposes $30.
26. Commercial flood proofing panels for FEMA compliance: $200 flat fee.
27. Wood lattice/screening including framing and material-no roofing
allowed, for each 100 square feet or a fractional part thereof: residential $25; commercial.

28. Window removal and replacement: $20 per window.
29. Commercial vent hoods, for each $1,000 of the estimated cost or a
fractional part thereof.
30. Signage:
(a) New signs, for each 40 square feet of Signage or a fractional part
thereof: residential N/A; commercial $35.
(b) Modify, repair, repaint existing. signs, for each 40 square feet or a
fractional part thereof: residential N/A; commercial. $30.
(c) Political signs: $50 unlimited signs.
Note: The permits and associated fees listed below may also require additional
biological inspection fees.
31. Seawalls per 50 lineal feet or fractional part thereof: residential $35;
commercial $50.
32. Docks for each 10 square feet or a fractional part thereof residential $35;
commercial $50.
33. Dock piling (wood piling and concrete), each: residential $25; commercial
35.
34. Boat davit, (each): residential $45; commercial $60.
35. Boat lift: residential $100; commercial $200.
36. Retaining and rip rap walls per 100 lineal feet or a fractional part thereof:
residential $60; commercial $80.
37. Land filing, per each 100 cubic yards: residential $35; commercial $60.
38. Land clearing (invasive exotics): no fee.
39. Land clearing for construction purposes for each lot: residential $75;
commercial $95.
40. Non-refundable plan review fee to be added with the total permit fee:
residential $3 per $1,000 of estimated cost; commercial $4 per $1,000 of estimated cost.
41. Archived plan retrieval fee $25 per request,.copies priced per Section
119.07(1)(a), Florida Statutes.
42. Extension. of a permit if no new codes are in effect: $S0.
43. Radon fee: 5% of additional living area.
44. BCAIF fee: 5% of additional living area.
45. Re-inspection fee due to rejection of work due to faulty construction, work
not ready, failure to call for inspection and work covered up, work not per plans and no
access to jobsite: flat fee: $100.
46. After the fact permit fees for work done without benefit of a permit. Price
for after the fact permits will be assessed to each category, building, plumbing, electrical,
mechanical and roofing at double the regular permit fee.
47. Plans revision fee (for substantially revised plans): flat fee $75.
48. Plans revision fee (for minor revisions to plans): flat fee $45.
49. Contractor registration fee: initial fee $40; annual update fee $25'.
50. Business license fee (annual): $200; home occupation license fee (annual)
$100.
51. Lost permit card or lost plans fee: residential $20; commercial $40.
52. FEMA inspections: $150.
(B) PLUMBING PERMIT FEES:
1. Minimum fee: $75.
2. Each fixture roughed in and set: residential $25; commercial $35.
3. Sewer/drainage-building interior lines and connection: residential $70;
commercial $80.
4. Outside sanitary and storm lines (site work) for each $1,000 of cost of
fractional part thereof: residential $70; commercial $90.
5. .Manholes (each): flat fee: $70.
6. Floor or roof drain (each): flat fee $10.
7. Water piping:
(a) Connection to supply system (each): residential $35; commercial
$55.
(b) ,Connection to any appliance or fixture not covered by paragraph
(b)2: residential $35; commercial $45.
(c) Irrigation systems for each $1,000 of cost or fractional part thereof:
residential $25; commercial $40.
8. Water mains and distribution lines, for each $1.000 of cost or a fractional
part thereof: residential $30; commercial $40.
9. Swimming pools, spas, hot tubs: residential $60; commercial $200.
10. Solar water heater new complete installation: residential $50; commercial
$85.
11. Jobsite temporary toilet (valid for the length of the project): residential
$45; commercial $60.
12. Miscellaneous plumbing not covered or included herein, for each $1,000
of the estimated cost or fractional part thereof: residential $30; commercial $45.
13. Plumbing after the fact fees: refer to (a)46.
(C) ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES:
1. Minimum fee: $75.
2. Site work: residential and commercial, for each $1,000 of the estimated
cost of construction or a fractional part thereof: residential $50; commercial $60.
3. Outlets-(general, receptacles, switches, lighting, telephones, computer,
TV, etc: for each 100 square feet or fractional part thereof: residential $11; commercial
$12.
4. Each appliance outlet including ceiling fans: residential $11; commercial
$12.
5. Each exterior light-exclusive of sign lighting: residential $10;
commercial $15.
6. Temporary electrical service: residential $100; commercial $200.
7. Single phase service, 0-300 amps; residential $80; commercial $100.
8. Single phase service, over 300 amps to 400 amps: residential $95;
commercial $110.
9. Single phase service, over 400 amps to 600 amps: residential $120;
commercial $135.
10. Single phase service, over 600 amps: residential $300; commercial $400.
11. Three phase service, 0 to 300 amps: residential $95; commercial $150.
12. Three phase service, over 300 amps to 400 amps: residential $110;
commercial $135.
13. Three phase service, over 400 amps to 600 amps: residential $160;
commercial $195.
14. Three phase service, over 600 amps: residential $250; commercial $350.
Note: Sub feeds to be charged by amps at the same rate as services.
15. Each motor throughout the project: 0 to 10 hp: residential $60;
commercial $75.
16. Each motor over 10 to 25 hp: residential $125; commercial $145.
17. Each motor over 25 hp: residential $165; commercial $180.
18. Generators, transformers and transfer switches (each) 0 to 25 KW: .

19. Generators, transformers and transfer switches (each) over 25 KW to 50

23. Air conditioner (each), window or wall unit if new service is needed:

24. Central systems, up to 20 tons: residential $60; commercial $85.
25. Central systems, over 20 tons: residential $85; commercial $120.
26. Refrigeration system, up to 20 tons: flat fee: $95.
27. Refrigeration system, over 20 tons: residential and commercial $5/per ton.
28. Heat pump, residential and commercial: minimum fee $60.
29. Elevators, residential and commercial: flat fee: $200.
30. Dumbwaiters, chairlifts: residential and commercial: flat fee: $200.
31. Signage first connection: $60.
32. Signage each additional sign connection: $30.
33. Plug mold and track lighting for each 1001ineal feet or fractional part
thereof: residential $60; commercial $85:
34. Low voltage alarm system: residential $100; commercial $35 per $1,000
of estimated cost.
35. Commercial vent hoods: price per motors, see paragraph (c)15-(c)17.
36. Electrical repairs/remodeling same as new work: minimum fee $75.
37. Swimming pools, spas and hot tubs (lights, pump, bonding, grounding and
timer): residential $200; commercial $300.
38. Miscellaneous electrical work not included herein, for each $1,000 of cost
or a fractional part thereof: residential $30; commercial $45.
39. After the fact electrical work: refer to paragraph (a)46.
(D) MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES:
1. Minimum fee: $75.
2. Air conditioning systems (excluding window units) and refrigeration:
(a) 0-2 ton $55
(b) 2-5 ton $70
(c) 5-10 ton $85
(d) 10-25 ton . $100
(e) 25-50 ton $130
(f) 50-100 ton $210
(g) over 100 ton $320
3. Duct work per drop (incl uding return air plenums): residential $10;
commercial $12.
4. Vent hoods (each): residential $50; commercial $100.-
5. Heat pump (per unit): residential $50; commercial $70.
6. Miscellaneous mechanical work not included herein, for each $1,000 of
cost or a fractional part thereof: residential $35; commercial $70.
7. Gas equipment and piping (per fixture unit inclusive of all required
piping): residential $45; commercial $60.
8. Mechanical elevators (up to two floors), dumbwaiters, moving sidewalks,
escalators: flat fee: $150.
9. Mechanical elevators (over two floors): additional $75 per floor.
10. After the fact mechanical and gas fees: refer to Section (a)46.
(E) PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICE. FEES:
1. Consultant reports for approvals: fee subject to time expended.
2. Plan review (for all required landscape plans, i.e. buffer yards and
mitigation): flat fee $75.
3. Site visit inspection (for environmental compliance review or vegetation
plan review): flat fee $100.
4. Land filling permits: residential $40; commercial $50.
5. Dock seawall/riprap applications: flat fee, canal $40; open water $80.
6. Planning or environmental inspection fee: flat fee $75.
7. Reinspection fee. (Inspection requested job not ready): flat fee $40.
8. Planning review fee: new residential $40; modification to existing
residential $20; new commercial $50; modification to existing commercial $30.
(G) OPERATIONS/PUBLIC WORKS FEES:
1. Minimum fee: flat fee $75.
2. Utility work in the right of way not performed by Village personnel: flat
fee $75.
3. Driveway connection approval to Village roadways: flat fee $50.
THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON ITS
ADOPTION.
