• The regular monthly meeting of the Councilmen of the Vi13a.ge
of Tequesta was held at 8:00 P.A':., Tuesday, Juc.e 17, 1959 at the
Village Hall. Councilmen present tiaere: Meusrs. Syl.resier, Bowden,
Simmons, Long and Cunningham. Also present were Robert Harp, Yillage
Manager and Clerk and William A. Lord, Vi?Ia g~ Attorney.
The meeting wQs cps:^sd with Prayer anti Pied~e of Allegiance
to the Flag by C.ounci?gran Boti•~den.
Upon motion by Cun:?ir_gham, second by Bo-aden and passed,
the reading of the Minutes of the prvious meeting Baas waived.
Bowden moved, second 'oy Crnning?~~.,n and pa:;ssd +~at the
detailed reading of the xinancia,l sta~:encr•c for t:1e ~aon•~h of May

last yeax~~ The Village Ma~,~er add-ised a copy of each •:~nor.ths report
for the same period the previ~+us year would be made a;<.~,i3a.ble at
each Council sleeting. C?u~ingham moved, second by Boyden and passed
that the financial statement and dish+srse~r;::~•~s for Ma;~ 1969 be
approvied. Balances on nand a~C May 3I, 1969 were as follows:

The Sinking Fund balance for payment of principal and interest on
the Village Hall bonds was X20.647,23.
The Water Department financial statement for five (5) months
showed total revenues of $89,096.30; total expenses of $24,885.61
and debt service requirements of $55,967.76.

Counci . ~ n Si.~nons reported that the P,~;~sior~ Plan had not
• been completed by the village Attorney's Office. HIr. ?.~~rd stated
the matter had been referred to NIr. James Winters who is px•esently
on vacation and will be ba,.:c i*~ his office Monday. Mr. Si,~unons
verbally resigned from the position of Temporary Trustee for the
Pension Plan.
Councilman Cunrlirgham roported that the C. 0. G. Orgaiuzation

Attorney Lord reported that the State Legislatu*e had passed
the Bi11 redefining the Village boundaries ,o include al? lands
annexed to the Village since the last r~defi:ziti_on in 1965. He
further reported the Bil.~ that wound allaw a:ssPSSment off' taxes over
the 5 mill Charter limitation. after a referen3~un was reported by
the computer not to have passed, bit the secretary to the Palm
Beach County Legislative Delt~gatior~ stated it had passed. Both Eills
will probably become law witho:~t the Govenars sigi:ature after a
period of ten daps,
The Village Manager reported on a letter fram °.he Trustees
of the Internal l!~provemert Fund a~kir_g ~~:~at acta ~.n, :~f any, she
Vi1la,ge would take wit'r_ resg~ect to the Si.ic~•ragerc;~~- Advi3 wy= Committee
recona~nendatious concerning the Bulklead Y{i :es ir_ the Vi _lages area
of jurisdiction, which basi:a l:y is to pull the lines ~cic to the
high orator line. He stated that he would advise the 'fr~xstees that

the extension be granted.
The Village Manager apprised the Council of the Municipal
Home Rule Legislation passed by the Legislature and the passage of
Legislation requiring the Consolidation of City and County Tax
Assessing and collection by County Tax Assessors and Collectors.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 10:00 P.M.
