COUNCILMEN OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
A Public Hearing was held by the Councilmen of the Village of
Tequesta, Florida, at ?:30 P.M., Tuesday, 3anua ry 16, 1968. Counci Lnen
present were: Messrs. Bowden, Sylvester, Valier and Cornelius. Also
present were Robert Harp, Village Manager and Clerk and ~lilliam A. Lord,
Village Attorney.
The Clerk advised that publication of the lbgal notice.advising
of the Hearing, had been made in the Beacon News December 28, 1967 and
Preof of Publication was submitted.
The Hearing was advised that it had been set to consider and
act upon an amendmeht to Ordinance No. 43, the Official Zoning Ordinance
of the Village of Tequesta, relating to off-street parking requirements
in the C-1 Retail Commercial District and C-2 Vholesale Commercial and
Light Industrial District.
The Vi1la,ge Manager presented proposed changes i.n parking re-
quirements and each item was discussed i.n detail.
Following the discussion, Cornelius moved, second by Va]i er,
that Section ?-C Off-Street Parking Regulations, C-1 Retail Commercial
District and Section 8-B, Building Height and ~!rea :tegula,tions, C,_2
Wholesale Commercial District, be amended to includs the following parking
requirements:
• C-1 RETAIL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT

Banks, Savings and Loan Associ bons, Eusiness or Professional Offices
excluding Doctors and Dentists
One (1) parking space per th ee hundred (300) square
feet of usable floor area, p us one (1) space for
each three (3) employees.
Medical and Dental Clinics; Do tors and Dentist Offices:
Five (5) spaces per doctor o dentist based on the
maximum design capacity of a facility or five (5)
spaces for every four hundr (400) Square feet of
usable Boor space, whicheve is greater.
Mortuaries or Funeral Parlors:
Five (5) spaces per parlor or chapel unit or
one (1) space per four (4) seats, whichever is
greater.
Retail Stores and Personal Service Establishments; except as
otherwise Specified herein:
One (1) space per one hundred (100) square feet
of retail floor area .

Shopping Centers Containing five (5) or more Stores or 15,OOG
square feet of Building:
There shall be a ratios of four (4) square feet of
parking (including driveways required for ingress,
egress and circulation) to each one (1) square foot
of retail floor space.
Veterinary Establishment:
Five (5) spaces per veterinarian based on the
maximum design capacity of the facility or
five (5) spaces for every four hundred (400)
square feet of usable floor space, whichever
is greater.

Wholesale Conrnercal, Manufacturing and Industrial Concerns
not Catering to the Retail Trade:
One (1) space for each four hundred (44a)
square feet of gross floor area.
Two or more buildings or uses may collectively provide the required
off-street parking in which case the required number of parking
• spaces shall be not less than the sum of the requirements for the
several individual uses computed separately.
and the Village Attorney prepare an ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 43
to include these changes. The vote on the motion was:
Cornelius - For the Motion
Bowden - For the Motion
Sylvester - For the Motion

The Hearing adjourned a~ 8:00 P.M.
