THE COUNCILI~N OF THE VILY~AGE OF TEQUESTA
The CounciLnen of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, .held a
Public Hearing at ?:30 P.M., Tuesday May 21, 1968, at the Vi7~.age Hall.
Councilmen present ward: Messrs. Sylvester, Bowden, Valier, Long and
Cunningham. Also present was Robert Harp, Village Clerk.
Mayor Sylvester asked the Clerk to read the publishecl'Notice
of the Meeting.
The ~ first matter was to determine a zoning cla.ssificatioa for
Lot ~, Block D, Jupiter Manors, which Baas annexed to the Vi1lat,ge of
Tequesta, March 28, 1968, by Ordinance No. 143. It was exp]ained that
Couatp zoning in that area is the highest residential c]a,ssification as
is Bay Harbor Subdivision in the Village of Tequesta. Va liar moved,
second by Bowden, that the zoning classification for Lot 9, block D,
Jupiter Manors be designated R-lA mingle Family Dwelling District.
The vote on the motion was:
Long - For
Cunningham - For
Howden - For
Sylvester - For
Bowden - ~+'or
Motion passed.
The application of Eastern Sales, Inc, for a change in zoning
classification from R-1 Single Family Dwelling District to R-2 Multiple
Family Dwelling District was then considered. Bowden moved, second by
Cunningham, that the parcels of land named by Eastern Sales, Inc. lying
west of Seabrook Road and north and west of the Jupiter-Tequesta Junior
Citizens, Inc. property be rezoned to an R-2 Multiple Family Dwelling
District.
Mr. Irving Schlusemeyer showed an artists drawing of the pro-
posed subdivision which is to have approximately 200 condominium units
for adults with recreational facilities.
Mrs. Shanley suggested potential problems arising from in-
creased traffic, sewerage and needed completion of Seabrook Road.
Mr. Jerger requested the Council consider not changing the zoning
bera,use of potential problems which might arise from area children
using the area causing problems with the residents who will live there.
Paul Thomson said he thought such a development would be good
and could help to maintain values of surrounding properties. Mr. Pignato
questioned quality control of the building to be done and was not in
favor of retirement type homes such as are in Riverside Drive Park.
Mayor Sylvester called for the vote of the motion rich was:

Lang
Motion passed.
