THE COUNCILI~IZId OF TIIE VI3.L~GE OF TEQUIJSTA, FLORIDA
A Public :Tearing was held bar the Councilmen of the Village of
Tequesta at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 20, 1969, at the Village ball,
35? Tequesta Drive. Councilmen present were: N:essrs. Hylvester, Valier,
Bowden, Long and Cunningham. Also present were Robert harp, Village Clerln
and Manager and Village Attorney i~illiam A. Lord,.
The Clerk advised that the Nearing had been duly advertised
and was being held to consider and act upon an amendment to Ordinance Igo. ~3,
the Official Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Tequesta, to provide that
commercial areas ~7hich abut residential areas would have to provide a
buffer between such areas.
Councilmen Cunningham revie~Ted some suggestions that he had
made at a. previous meeting in regards to type, height, time limit for
completion of instal]a.tion of various t~ge hedges or fences.
The Councilmen were in agreement that the following specifi-
cations be incorporated into an Ordinance to provide a buffer between
commercial zoned areas and residential zoned areas of the Village:
1. It is to be a living hedge of ~aastralian Pine.
2. E:edge is to be planted on the commercial property by the owner
of the commercial property.
• 3. Hedge must be planted six feet (u~) or less from the property
line.
4. Trees must be planted spaced three feet (3~) apart.
5. Kedge must be maintained at height of six feet (6~) to ten feet (10').
6. Hedge must be planted within thirty (30) days after occupancy or
use of property.
The Village Attorney was directed to prepare an Ordinance to
amend Ox~.inance No. 4,3 to include these ;provisions.
