Meeting. held Monday May 1, 196? at the Yillage Hall-was attended by Councilmen Bowden, Yalier, Cornelius and Sylvester.,; Also in attendance were- Village Manager Robert Harp and Yillage. lttor~pEey. William A. Lord. A ]arge delegation, of .property owners and residents of Country Club Point and several property owners and residents of Tequesta Country Club Community were also in attendance. Mayor Bowden advised the meeting that it had been callad for the purpose of discussing ~bea.utficgtion throughout the Village of Tequesta and to study a proposed oxt~ima,ace detailing Village Managerrs; duties. Mayor Bowden summarized the Yfllage~s policies as to mainten- ance of various entrances aa~.,the present costs of such maintenance. It was exp]sined that all of the plantings at the, entrances of the Country Club Community had been put in by the Tequesta Country Club Community Associati.an, Inc. and Ythe Village has .maintained them. All;nf the residents present from. Country Club Point believed they were being. discriminated against by the Vil]a.ge not maiatail11L1,g the entrances to the four (4) streets, Courrtry Club Circle, Tradewinds Circle, Leeward Circle and Starboard-Way of-the Country Qub Point Subdivision. They all stated their taxes were a part of the Mire picture and were all in favor of beautification for` all areas of the Village-even if it would-.mean an increase in takes: The delegation was advised that perhaps maintenance of their street corners would lead to requests and demands-that the Village beautify and maintain practically all. street intersections. ' The entire audience was in agreement that they-were desirous of having the Village of T`equesta consist of good beautification through- out the entire Village. The. Council decided to appoint a beautification committee to make a further study of the matter. Attorney Lord discussed the Yillage.Manager~s Duties Ordi- nance with the Councilmen explaining the Village Manager foam of government and reasons for various ,duties being put into the ordinances A few minor revisions were mode in the ordinance and .Attorney Lord will present it for reading at the next Council Meeting.
