HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Special Meeting_12/15/1966MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE COUNCILMEN OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FIARIDA A Public Hearing was held by the Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta, Florida at 7:30 P.M., December 15, 1966. Councilmen present were: Messrs. Bowden, Sylvester and Cornelius. Also pre- sent was Robert Harp, Village Clerk. Mayor Bowden advised that the Hearing had been postponed from the advertised date of December 13 because of lack of a quorum. The Clerk advised that the Public Hearing had been duly advertised for the purpose of determining Zoning Classifications for the Forrest E. Smith property on Jupiter Island and the Roderick property on Seabrook Road. Affected property owners within 500 feet of both properties had also been advised of the Hearing by letter. The Clerk stated that his office had not received any com- ments relative to a Zoning Classification for either parcel of land. Mr. Forrest E. Smith requested similar zoning for his property as is on the Jupiter Island Apartments and the DiVosta property. Cornelius moved, seconded by Sylvester that the Forrest E. Smith property on Jupiter Island be zoned R-3 Multiple Family (High Rise) Dwelling District. The vote on the motion was: Cornelius For Sylvester For Bowden For The motion was therefore passed and the Village Attorney is to pre- pare the proper Ordinance to provide for this zoning. The Clerk showed a plat of the general area in the vicin- ity of the Roderick property on Seabrook Road and advised that all adjacent Village properties are zoned R-1, Single Family Dwelling Classification. Sylvester moved, second by Cornelius that the Roderick property be zoned R-1, Single Family Dwelling District. The vote on the motion was: Cornelius For Sylvester For Bowden For The motion was therefore passed and the Village Attorney is to pre- pare the proper ordinance to provide for this zoning.
