VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA
CIVIL DEFENSE REPORT
The scheduled October 31st Meeting of the Tequesta, Jupiter is
Civil .Defense groups was canceled because of Halloween.
The Tequesta Civil Defense Radiological Survey Team parti-
cipated in a test of Survey Instruments on October 21, 1966. This
test consisted of taking readings of various instruments and reporting
same to County Civil Defense Headquarters.
Next regular Civil Defense Meeting is scheduled for Novem-
ber 28, 1.966, at 8:00 P.M. at Tequesta Village Hall.

CHIEF OF POLICE
The Police Department during the month of October, 1966
instituted or investigated ninety-ni.ne complaints. Police vehicles
traveled a total of 5,484 miles using 460.2 gallons of gas and four
quarts of oil.
On the first of October operation of the Police Desk at
Police Headquarters and Radio Dispatching of Patrol Units on our
own radio network was instituted. This added service has been well
received by the residents of the Village and also by other police
agencies in the County.
On Sunday, October 1st, the Police Department assisted in
the official opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies at the new Community
Federal Savings and Loan Association.
Several applications for Special Police Officers have been
received and are being processed. An organizes tional meeting has been
• set for November 9th at Police Headquarters. At this time the Chief
iaill meet with the interested persons to discuss rules, regulations
and desires for this Special Police Group.
On October 25, 1966, recommendations from the State's
Attorney's Office were received for the setting up of a County-Zti'ide
teletype network connecting various police departments and Palm Beach
Sheriffs Office. This communications network has been recommended by
the State Attorney's Office to fulfill the desires of the Grand Jury
for better I.aw enforcement in Palm Beach County.
Halloween was celebrated on October 31, 1966. Trick and
treaters were plentiful but exuberance was confined to a couple of
egg throwing incidents and one broken window. All incidents were
investigated, culprits warned and in case of broken window, full
restitution was received by damaged party.
There were no B ~ E's or major felonies reported or inves-
tigated this month.
Attached to this report is a complete breakdorn of Police
activities for month of October, 1966.

Thursday, November 3, 1966, as TEQi~'.STA BIAOD BANK -DAY.
The Mobile Blood Bank-Unit xill be located at the First
United Presbyterian (lurch, 482 Tequesta. Drive, from
1:00 P.M, to ?:~ F.M.
Tequesta residents are urged to donate oae pint of blood
at this-time which will be reserved for the use of Village
of Tequesta residents as needed. ,
