DUSENBERY CHIEF OF POLICE The Police Department during the month of December, 1966 investigated or instituted ninety-two complaints. Police vehicles traveled a total of 5,647 miles using 516.9 gallons of gas and 11 quarts of oil. Five minor traffic accidents were investigated with no injuries. One arrest was made for careless driving. On December 8th, the message service for Juno Beach Police Department was put into service. As of midnight, December 31, forty- five messages had been received for and relayed to Juno Beach Police plus daily radio traffic from Palm Beach and Martin County area. The annual Christmas Parade was held on Saturday, Decem- ber 10th. The Chief, two patrolmen and both patrol cars assisted parade officials and the handling of traffic. • At 12:02 A.M. on December 25, the ?07 Bridge was put out of commission by a tug pulling a barge. Radio contact with Jupiter Island Police Department was made immediately and Police protection for Tequesta properties on south Jupiter Island established. Jupiter Inlet Beach Colony Police Department, through Marshall Carlsen and Jupiter Volunteer Fire Department through Chief Baird were contacted and full facilities of our communications systems made available to them during this emergency. On December 27th the teletype machine was delivered and installed in Police Headquarters. Training of personnel in operation of machine will be done by Telephone Clompany representatives. Tele- type net will go into operation in first week of January, 1967. There are fifteen municipalities subscribing to this network. This system ties in subscribing Police Departments and Palm Beach Sheriffs Office as recommended by States Attorny~s Office and the Grand Jury. The holiday season was marred only by one B £~ E, minor loss and several complaints of petty larceny by shop lifting. The B ~ E is still active but the larcenies by shop lifting were cleared, mer- chandise recovered and prosecution instituted. Attached to this report is a complete breakdown of Police Department activities for month of December. • ~ 1 ~~~~~~ H. M. Dusenbery .~ Chief of Police VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA CIVIL DEFENSE REPORT No Meeting was held this month because of conflict with the Holidays. Next scheduled Meeting will be held on January 30, 1967 at 7:30 P.M, at Tequesta Village Hall. A trip to the State Civil Defense Headquarters in Jonathan Dickinson State Park is planned.
