A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR A COMMUNITY CENTER
ADVISORY COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR COMMITTEE
COMPOSITION, AUTHORITY & RESPONSIBILITIES; PROVIDING FOR
COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS; PROVIDING FOR SUNSET OF SAID
COMMITTEE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta has previously procured, through the CCNA
process, an Architect Firm to assist the Village with the design of a new community center; and
WHEREAS,the scope of services of the first negotiated contract with the Architect Firm
contemplated information gathering to determine certain parameters for the community center;
and
WHEREAS, the Architect Firm has heretofore worked with one council appointed
representative and one Council member, along with certain Village Staff inembers and has
proposed a relocation of the community center from its original contemplated location, as well as
a number of general concepts for the community center, and the first negotiated contract has now
concluded; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Flarida, now desires to
provide for a "Community Center Advisory Committee" for purposes of advising the Village
Council on the proposed new community center at the proposed new location, prior to
negotiating a new contract with the previously selected Architect Firm for formal architectural
design of the new community center; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to provide for the committee's composition, its
authority&responsibilities, and for its compliance with applicable laws; and
WHEREAS,the Village Council desires to provide for the sunset of the committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The above stated recitals are true and accurate and are hereby made part of
this Resolutions.
Section 2: The Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, hereby provides
for the "Community Center Advisory Committee". The Community Center Advisory

Committee shall be composed of five (5) members; each member of the Village Council,
including the Mayor, shall appoint one individual to voluntarily serve on the Community Center
Advisory Committee.
Section 3: The Community Center Advisory Committee shall hold public
information meetings for the purpose of sharing ideas with the public and equally important, for
the purpose of receiving public comment regarding community center features and functionality.
The Community Center Advisory Committee shall report to the Village Council on a regular
basis regarding its work and shall present its recommendations for the Community Center to the
Village Council for further direction, final review and ultimate approval.
Section 4: The Community Center Advisory Committee shall appoint from among its
membership a Chair and a Vice-Chair, and shall establish its own rules of procedure; however
any such rules shall comply with and be subject to the Florida Government in the Sunshine laws
and the Florida Public Records Act. Additionally, all committee members shall be bound by the
Florida Code of Ethics and the Palm Beach County Code of Ethics for appointed officials.
Section 5: The Community Center Advisory Committee shall automatically sunset
and shall cease to operate and exist, with no further action of the Village Council required, upon
the final approval of the community center by the Village Council, at which time it is
contemplated that the Village Council may authorize further contract negotiations pursuant to
Sec. 287.055, F.S. (the Competitive Consultants Negotiation Act) with the previously selected
Architect Firm for formal architectural design of the new community center.
Section 6: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
