RESOLUTION 16-19: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO AN AUDIT COMMITTEE FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ASSISTING THE VILLAGE COUNCIL IN THE SELECTION OF A QUALIFIED
AUDITOR TO CONDUCT THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT PURSUANT TO SECTION 218.391,
FLORIDA STATUTES; PROVIDING FOR THE SUNSET OF THIS AUDIT COMMITTEE; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
This resolution will provide the mechanism for the Village Council to constitute the auditor selection
committee as required by state law.

RESOLUTION NO. 16-19
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO AN AUDIT
COMMITTEE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
IN THE SELECTION OF A QUALIFIED AUDITOR TO CONDUCT THE
ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT PURSUANT TO SECTION 218.391, FLORIDA
STATUTES; PROVIDING FOR THE SUNSET OF THIS AUDIT COMMITTEE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WIMR]EAS, Section 218.39(l), Florida Statutes, requires that the Village of Tequesta,
have an annual financial audit of its accounts and records completed within 9 months after the end
of its fiscal year by an independent certified public accountant retained by it and paid from its
public funds; and
WHEREAS, Section 218.391, Florida Statutes establishes specific procedures whereby
the Village of Tequesta shall solicit for and select a qualified certified public accountant and/or
firm of such accountants to conduct the annual financial audit; and
WHEREAS, Section 218.391(2), Florida Statutes, requires that the Villge Council
establish an Audit Committee to assist the Village Council in selecting an auditor to conduct the
annual financial audit; and
WHEREAS, the Audit Committee shall be primarily responsible for the solicitation,
evaluation, ranking and recommendation of qualified certified public accountants and/or firms per
Section 218.391(3), Florida Statutes, and shall submit its rankings and recommendations to the
Village Council for its consideration and final award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1: Audit Committee Members. The Village Council of the Village of
Tequesta in accordance with the provisions of F.S. Sec. 218.391, hereby appoints the persons
named below to the Audit Committee:

I Section 2: Duties. The Audit Committee shall be primarily responsible for the
solicitation, evaluation, ranking and recommendation of qualified certified public accountants
and/or firms per Section 218.391(3), Florida Statutes, and shall submit its rankings and
recommendations to the Village Council for its consideration and final award.
Section 3: Sunset Date. The Audit Committee established herein shall sunset upon the
effective date of a written contract with the selected qualified certified public accountant or firni to
conduct the annual financial audit.
Section 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
