HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_25-19_7/11/2019RESOLUTION NO 25-19 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, INCREASING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018/2019 SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT FUND #605 BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING FUND BALANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,220.00 TO FUND THE PURCHASE OF TWENTY (20) BALLISTIC HELMETS, TWENTY (20) BALLISTIC HELMET HARNESSES, FORTY (40) BALLISTIC PLATES, AND FIFTEEN (15) BALLISTIC PLATE CARRIERS USING ASSET FORFEITURE FUNDS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES; WHEREAS, the Village is funding the purchase of twe#ty,(20) ballistic helmets, twenty (20) ballistic helmet harnesses, forty (40) ballistic plates, and fifteen (15) ballistic plate carriers valued at approximately $13,220.00; and WHEREAS, Keith Smolen, the Village Police Department's Operation Lieutenant, has inspected these items for its suitability and confirms that it not only a good deal financially but will serve the Police Department's patrol units well into the future; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has determined and verified that the Village's Law Enforcement Trust Fund has adequate funds to cover the purchase of this item and that use of the Village's Law Enforcement Trust Fund assets to pay for twenty (20) ballistic helmets, twenty (20) ballistic helmet harnesses, forty (40) ballistic plates, and fifteen (15) ballistic carriers is permissible and appropriate pursuant to trust fund asset regulations; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Village Council of the Village of Tequesta hereby adopts this Resolution and thereby approves the requested increase to the Fiscal Year 2018/2019 Special Law Enforcement Fund Budget by appropriating Fund Balance in the amount of $13,200.00 to fund the purchase of twenty (20) ballistic helmets, twenty (20) helmet harnesses, forty (40) ballistic plates, and fifteen (15) ballistic plate carriers Section 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
