MINUTES OF THE PUBLId HEARING HELD BY
~ THE VILLAGE OF TE~UESTA ZONING BpARD OF
ADJUSTMENT (APPLICATIOdJ OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCii)
A Public Hearing was held by the Village df Tdq~es~a Zoning Board
of Ad~uatment at 8:00 P.M. at the Village Hall. Board members,,present
weret Messrs. Vierck, Shiplett, Gifford and Good. Also prbsel~t wad
Robert Harp, Clerk of the Board.
t~airman Vierck had the Cleric read the letter of application
from the First Baptist Church and the Legal Notice explaining that the
Church had made application for a rear yard of only seventeen (17)
feet instead of twe:rty (20) feet as required by the Zoning Ordinance.
Rev. Paul Thomson explained the main reason for the request was
ao that the fronts of the existing building and the new building ~,rould
align with each other.
Mr. William E. Schlusemeyer is-hose cormsration o~rns residential
lots on the north side of Dover Load sent a letter to the Board stating
they had ao ob~ectfons to the proposed variance.
Mrs. Rose Birong protested if the building was to be used as a
parochial day school and Rev. Thomson stated this was not the inten-
tion of the Church at this time.
The Board and applicants discussed possible ways in which the
• xidth of fire building could be reduced to the same width as the existing
building.
Chairman Vierck stated the Board could only rule on such variances
providing any applicant could sho~r a definite hardship case.
Rev. Thomson stated his group ~,rould abide by the wishes of the
Board.
Chairmaa Vierck stated there had been no protests either written
or from the floor on the application.
The Board advised the applicants that the Board ~~ould take the
application under consideration since all arguments had been heard.
The Board engaged in considerable discussion of all phases of the
application and voted as follows on the application:
Vierck Against
Shiplett Against
Good Against
Gifford Against
The Clerk was instructed to advise the applicants of the Boards
decision.
The Board unanimously approved the plans for the construction of
the new building and authorised the Cleric to proceed eaith the issuance
of the Building Petmi.t.
The meeting ad3ourned at 9:20 P.M.
