THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
• The Village of Tequesta Zoning Board of Ad~ustmeat held~a
Public Rearing on June 24, 1966 at 6:00 P.M. at the Village Ha.Il, 35T
Tequesta Drive. Board members present were: Messrs. Vierck Gooc~f
Murphy,Shipplet and Gifford. Also present was Robert Harp, 4~lerk of
the Hoard.
Chainaa,n Vierck had the Clerk explain the reason for the
Bearing. The Clerk read the application letter from Tequesta Sales
Corporation, J. P. Kurtz, Pres7.dent, requesting the Hear~g. The appli-
cation was for a variance of the required side street set back of 20 feet
to 15 feet on both River Drive and Point Circle on Lot No. 421, Tequesta.
Chairman Vierck asked if any written complains had been re-
ceived. The Clerk read a letter from Forrest E. wmi'~b, ov~mer cif lot
No. 41 and the South 1/2 of Lot No. 42, opposing the rec~aested variance.
Persons in attendance presented letters in opposition to the requested
variance from Henrg Lange, owner I~t 43 and Sottth 1/2 of Lot 42 and
Brantley E. Tryon, owner of Lot No. 412.

Gardner, owner of Lot No. 416.
• Mr. J. P. Kurtz explained that the lot in qusst:.on was of odd.
size arul presented a problem in constructing a house to fit the setbacks
as established in the Village Zoning Ordinance. Paul Thomson presented
elevations of the proposed residence and a plot p1a,n sinowiztg its loc~w
tion on the lot using 15 foot setbacks on both River Drive and Point
Circle. He also spoke of how he proposed to landscape the lot and
pointed out the requested variance would permit the house to be cons-
tructed with a minimum blocking of the point area with the front of the
house being approximately 130 feet from the tip of tha point.
Some of the property owners in attendance were not quite so
concerned about the variance after the plans for the house and the plot
plan had been seen. Several others remained opposted to the granting
of any variances .
The Board further considered the arguments for and against the
application after all interested parties had left the Hearing. After much
discussion and a review of all the facts that had been presented, Murphy
moved that Tequesta Sales Corporation, J. P. Kurtz, Presiden~, be granted
a variance to permit the construction of a single family resideace on
Lot No. 421, Tequesta Country Club Comnttuzi.ty, with side setbscks of fif-
teen (15) feet on both River Drive and Point Circle, by Rev. Paul Thomson,
only, said residence to be constructed substantia l1T in accordance with
