Therefore we are bidding a 1966 Belvedere Plymouth Police Special with a 116" wheelbase. This car is a very comfortable and roomy car with a high degree of performance because of the horse- power to weight ratio and is ideally suited for pursuit because of its performance and handling characteristics. However, if you should desire a 119" wheelbase car, which is our Fury model, please call and I will get an immediate quote out of the facllory for you. Of course, all of our cars carry the 5 yr.-50,000 mile warranty, and many communities have found that the operational cost factor is greatly reduced because of this warranty. DUSENBERY CHIEF OF POLICE ANNUAL P()LTCE DEPARTMENT REPf1RT FCR FISCAL YEAR UCTUBER, 1964 THROUGH SEPTEMBER, 1965 The Police Department i~estigated 558 complaints during the pear, ranging from B €~_Eis to assisting with lost or straying children and pets. Police vehicles traveled a total of sixty-four thousand, eight hundred and ai>aety-one miles in patroling Pillage and enforcement of traffic ordinances. Thirty-two traffic citation arrests were made, plus four arrests for misdemeanors. Four felony arrests were prosecuted through Palm Beach County Court of Record. Thirty traffic accidents were investigated, several with minor in- juries and four with serious injuries. There were no traffic fatalities in the Village this pear. • Eighty-three new I.D. Card Applications were accepted and processed makfng a total of 388 I.D. Cards in service since ©rdinance Ato. ?2 went into effect on December 1©, 1963. 0n Map 29, 1965, the Police Department moved into its new offices in the new Village Hall on Tequesta Drive. These facilities have proven very adaptable to Police Ikpartment activities and plans for future development of Department as the needs of the Village grow. A Base Radio Station has been added, plus two walkie-talkie Radio Handsets. The Village has been liceased to operate by the Federal Co~u- ications Cor~ission on two Police frequencies. tJne hundred twenty-four residents of the Village have taken advag Cage of empty home checks during this pear. In August the new Food Fair Store opened for business in the Village. All Employees of this store have complied with T.D. ©rdinance No. ?2. In early September Hurricane Betsy passed south of this area. Betsy was a relatively dry storm. Only slight wind damage was suffered by this area . Cn September 18, completion of installation of traffic light at U.S. #1~and Tequesta Drive was accomplished. The blinker light formerly at this location was moved to intersection of 1.S. #1 and Bridge Road. Completion of this project has greatly benefited the area by slowing down traffic on U.S. #1 and permitting safe crossing of traffic from Tequesta Drive. Comparison with 1a.st years fiscal report shows seventy-four less complaints handled, twelve less traffic citations issued and an increase of two thousand six hundred and forty-three miles covered on patrol this year . DUSENBERY CHIEF OF POLICE VILLAGE OF TEQU ESTA P. O. BOX 638 .IU PITE R, FLORIDA - 33458 October 12, 1965 The Police Department investigated thirty-six complaints during the month of September. Police vehicles traveled a total of 4,881 miles using 440.2 gallons of gas and 11 quarts of oil. The one case of Grand Larceny reported has been cleared and full recovery of loss valued at $250. established. This case, plus three cases of vandalism are still under active investigation. They are related. On Saturday, September 18th, installation of new traffic signal at Tequesta Drive and U.S. #1 was completed and put into operation. Two new stop signs were installed at Food Fair Parking Lot at the entrances to U.S. #1. New stop signs were put at Dixie Highway and Tequesta Drive replacing rusted signs. Prompt action in handling a drunk and disorderly person at a dance at the Teen Center resulted in arrested person pleading guilty to both charges in Municipal Court. Use of new jail cell and police facilities proved very adaptable to the situation. On September 14th, Police Chief, acting as Civil Defense Director, and four members of Defense Team attended a 42 hour course on radiolo- gical survey a.nd the use of survey instruments at Palm Beach County Civil Defense Headquarters. All received Certificates of Qualification. On completion of course, radiological survey instruments were given to team and Tequesta Police Headquarters was designated as a Operational Monitoring Station #40 HVX by Palm Beach County Civil Defense. Henry M. Dusenbery was appointed Civil Defense Dir- ector by the Civil Defense Council, which consists of members of Tequesta Village Council. Civil Defense Director, upon instructions of Civil Defense Council and advice of Palm Beach Civil Defense Director, submitted a basic Civil Defense Plan to Council on March 9, 1965. This was adopted as Tequesta Civil Defense Plan by resolution on this date. In April, 1965, this Plan was submitted to both County and State Civil Defense organizations and was accepted as presented. On June 22, 1965, Civil Defense Director, with approval of Civil Defense Council, designated Village of Tequesta Police Department Head- quarters in new Village Hall on Tequesta Drive as Emergency Operating Center for Civil Defense and also appointed six Deputy Directors to assist the Director in administration of Civil Defense Plan. Civil Defense Meetings are held on the last Monday night of each month at 8:00 P.M. at Tequesta Village Hall. These Meetings are open to the public. In September, 1965, several members attended Radiological Survey Training Course at PaLn Beach Civil Defense Headquarters. Upon comple- tion of Training Course, members were awarded Certificates of Proficiency and Tequesta Civil Defense Headquarters was supplied with Radiological Survey Instruments and designated as an Operational Monitoring Station in Palm Beach County Radiological Survey Net.
