DUSENBERY CHIEF OF POLICE During the month of March Police vehicles traveled a total of 5,304 miles using 485.7 gallons of gas and seven quarts of oil. Six-two complaints were instituted or investigated ranging from unlocked businesses to petty larceny complaints. Officer Roderick on routine patrol apprehended two persons in the act of stealing building materials from a new home under cons- truction. Further investigation cleared two other complaints of the same type, by same individuals. Investigation of a complaint of disorderly conduct and assault at a teenage dance resulted in conviction of offender in Village Court on both charges. • Several complaints of Disorderly Conduct by teenagers at Royal Castle were handled and settled with no arrests made. This pro- blem is being watched closely by the Police DeFa,rtment. There were no motor vehicle accidents reported this month. No major crimes reported or investigated this month. Attached to this report is a complete breakdown of Police Department activities for the month of March, 1966. Respectfully submitted ~~~ Henry M. Dusenbery Civil Defense Director Village of Tequesta • PROPOSED ADDITIONAL EMPIAYEE FOR TEQUESTA POLICE DEPARTMENT • Due to increased activity and responsibilities of Folice Depart- ment in Shopping Centers and all night restaurant, and to keep up tight security of residential areas, it is recommended by the Chief of Police that an additional Police Officer be added to the Police Department. This man will be used from 8:00 F.M. to 4:00 A.M. on weekends and to supplement day shifts for balance of work week. This will give two men on duty on weekends during periods of teen dances and when largest amount of people are at bars and in Shopping Areas . The vacation period is approaching; the additional man will make it possible for police personnel to work the normal eight hour day instead of a twelve hour day under the present situation. The Chief of Police and the Yilla.ge Manager believe the cost of this proposal ca,n be met with the already budgeted funds alloted to the Police Department for this fiscal year. Wages $350.00 per Month $1,750.00 Uniforms _100.00 $1,850.00 u Note: This is for five month period from May 1, 1966 to September 30, 1966. t H. M.
