TO : COUlICIII~iAK, VILLAGE OF TEQUE.STA, FIARIDA A-study has been made of the garage area which the Village Comacil hoe authorized the Jester Volunteer FYr$ Department to use, wdthout reimbursement to the '~illage,.since it was .put into use in June 1965, During this dine, the Village of Tequesta has contribut - ,000. to the. fire department. and they have .purchased :gasoline f~-r.:thei:r~equi. , ~ from the Village at a considerable savings. The dimensions of the garage are 50 feet by 44 feet, overall, or a total of 2,200 square feet. This building was constructed at a total cost of $13,200. or $5.~E1 ,per square foot. By inquiring, this seems to be a fair cost for such construction today. 'The Jupiter Volunteer Fire department uses one-third (lj3} of the garage area, or approximately 730 square feet. As you are aware, the building does not contain toilet facilities or water inside the building. This i.s be- cause the building was constructed primarily as a Village gage and it was expexted that: the fire department would use it only until .such time as they could provide their own adegaute housing for their egni.pnent. It is mY timcier- standing that the Fire Control Tax District expects to or would, like to have some personill on duty at all times at their various stations when they go into operation. It is becomeng quite apparent that this additional space will be needed by the Village for the storage of maintenance equipment and supplies before too Iong. Xt is difficult to find a comparision with similar rental properties -.~ in the area. However, the following are for your consideration: McKinley Shopping Center X00 sq. feet $150. zaor~thly. Village Square Shoppd~ag Center 900 " " 150. ~ "" Schlusemeyer S'lioppiag Center 650 " " 100• " Tequesta Water Co. Building 2000 " " Z50. " I believe an important point to be considered in this matter is the availability of this location to all residences and businesses within the Village of Tequesta. Another location could reduce the effectiveness of this unit .for the Village of Tequeata. It would appear toYbe a good.,central location for all of the areas north of the Loxahatchee Rivera If it is the desire of the Council to lease this facility to Fire Control Tax District No. 1 commencing October 1, 1956,. it would seem that a ma:cimum morrthly rental not to exceed' $50.00 op. $5Q0.Q0 annua3.ly would be equitable, with such lease being on1 ,,fur a term of one ('1} year to be renewed on a year to year basis. I do riot be~~eve we should construct any additional facilities .such as toilets, for this, buiLdin~'ybut ttut such' facilities could be constructed and paid for by FiFe Control Tax D~,strict N,o3if ` Construction • was authorized and approved by the Village Council with such improvements be- coming the- property of the Village of Tequ~sta. w~iert the.; Dire Control Tax District should cease to use the building. ~. r ,; - -,` Robert ~ia,r Village Manager i,. ~`: ~"''=off'=;:a ~~ ~ ~+ tai ~,~;twt#+~ ~Adt ~+E 1J~iit tai ~~ '!~ ~nf ~ wp~r~ e.2~ ~~ ~i~l~ ~* ~e~t~# mid ~ ~~~ ~~ ~ > VILLAGE JUDGE •~` tars '~'i.'~t ,~' `t~r,tl~t~,. o, matt der ~ ,~i 1f~- rrt~rs. !~ are . tid ~~r~ ~.
