The last two films of the series on the Medical Self Help in disasters were shown. At the conclusion of films a discussion between the C-D directors and Councilmen Valier, Bledsoe and Slyvester of Tequesta on various ways to promote better attendance at C-D meetings. It was felt by all in attendance that this series of sound color films should be repeated in the fall and that diligent effort be made through the Press, Civic Organizations and mailing lists to advise the Public of this program. FLORIDA - 33458 ~3irre 11,1966 The Police Department instituted or investigated 71 complaints during the month of Jun®. Police vehicles traveled a total of 5,837 miles using 519.1 gallons of gas and 9 quarts of oil, Three minor traffic accidents were investigated, no injuries or arrests., Four improper parking tickets were issued and five verbal warn- ings given for minor traffic violations. Officer Gawn assisted Salt Water Conservation Department tnd was instrumental in arrest of three persons for stealing turtle eggs. Suspects were caught with 800 eggs in their possession. The Juvenile situation at the Royal Castle is being solved by close observation by Police Department and excellant cooperaticr:~rl 1-~Iryal Castl• district Manager Mr Moss, Three Juveniles from Loia~siana with a stolen car and credit card were apprehended in Royal Castle Parking Lot by Officer Gawn and Palm Eeach Sheriffs Office. The Chief attended Florida Police Chiefs conference in Daytona Beach on June 9-11. This organization is spearheading the drive in the State of Florida to up grade law enforcement through setting up reccomended standards for recuit selection and Police training program. The recent rulings of the United States Supreme Court has emphasized the need for higher educational standards in the Police Profession to cope with the rising crime rate in our nation, The center lining of North Flace and Fairway North and its various intersections have been completed this month. The Police Department at the present time has forty two homes on its vacation check list. There were no B&E~s or major crimes reported this month..
