The check reciived in August for June Cigarette Taxes amounted to $3,226.43 compa.rcd to $1,615.56 last year for the same period. 3. On July 8 met with Mayor Bowden aril Councilnwn Bledsoe concerning _ U.S. No. 1 and Tequesta Drive entrance. 4. An additional .maintenance man, Johnny Ware, started to work July 18. 5. Advised F1©rida Power ~ Light. Company to shade street lights on Willow Road and Bunker Place. 6. Wrote to .County Commissioner E. F. Van Kessel to ask County to clean drainage canal running along south boundary of Village from Seabrook Road to the River. Also wrote asking County to investigate drainage problem on Old Dixie at Rinkers. 7. Wrote to Florida League of Municipalities for information about CATV. • 8. Maintenance men put sprinkler system in for new grass at entrance, cut out .high growth around pESaphouse. Area at rear of Village Hall has been beautified by grass and plants removed~f~ U.S. No. 1 entrance. 9. Continued work on Budget far 1966-196? fiscal year. 10. ,Village Manager will be on vacation from August 8 for two weeks. 11. The Village was. fogged for mosquitoes" 12 times during July. 12. Contacted Mr. George W. Offutt, III of Tequesta Water Co., Inc., re: Installati6n of fire hydrants at Tequesta Drive and Seabrook Road and Tequesta Drive and Sevilla Road and he gave his verbal approval of these installations. Other; previously scheduled work is delaying his workmen from making the installation. 13, All Village roads rights-o!-way mowed. BOX 638 .JUPITER, FLORIDA - 33458 August 9,1966 During the month of July the Police Dept. answered a/o initiated a total of 80 complaints. Cruisers travelled a total of 5l~13 miles and used 170.?_ gal.of gas and ~ gts.of oil. There were 3 arrests on traffic violations and 2 warrants issued for violations of Village Dog Ordinances. In addition there were 9 tickets issued for illegal parking. A major felony occurred in Teq. when the Showcase T.V.Store was broken into. 8 T.V. sets were stolen. Tha break was discovered by officer Wm.Petrie on his check of business places. A through inv.was made at the scene;in conjunction with the crime lab of the PBSO; and a regional teletype alert was sent out to all law enforcement agencys. In addition, this dept sent out to 15 Police Depts. a detailed report concerning the MO of the crime as well as a description of the stolen merchandise. ~j.3 residents have listed their homes with this dept. as unoccupied and weekly physical checks are made of their property. I;. persons ware checked for d/b/w/o/1 in the Village. All were warned to obtain a license immediately or face arrest. All complied.
