O. eox 63e JUPITER, FLORIDA - 33458 September 13, 1966 HENRY M. DUSENBERY CHIEF OF POLICE The Police Department vehicles traveled 4,478 miles using 437 gallons of gas and five quarts of oil on patrol this month. Seventy-seven complaints were investigated including one minor auto accident, no injuries. Nineteen incidents of unlocked homes or businesses were found and secured. Village Officers assisted other police agencies eleven times in separate incidents. There were no B ~ E's reported or investigated this month. One case of Grand Ia,r- ceny of golf clubs reported, which is still active. One serious case of vandalism resulting to damage to Golf Club greens is under investigation. Several suspects under investi- gation but definite proof is lacking. Seven parking tickets were issued this month. • At the present time 32 homes are on Police Department's vacant homes check list. Twelve I. D. Cards issued and one application for Solici- tation Permit received. One incident of Disorderly Conduct by using Profane Ia.nguage at Roya 1 Castle was handled by Village Court resulting in Guilty Plea and subject being fined by said Court. Attached to this report is complete breakdown of Police activities for month of August, 1966. ~~~~~ ~.~ Henry M. Dusenbery - Chief of Police On August 31 through September 2nd, Civil Defense Director Chief Dusenbery and. Staff Officer Robert Sylvester attended the Florida Civil Defense Directors Convention at the Palm Beach Towers in Palm Beach. The major theme of the program was on operations during natural disasters such as hurricanes. The United States Navy Hurricane Hunters gave a full report and showed films on actual operations and penatrations of hurricanes by their aircraft. Mr. Gordon Dunn of the U. S. Weather Bureau and also Director of National Hurricane Center in Miami spoke and outlined his department's procedures on detecting and tracking hurricanes and how and when hurricane bulletins are issued. This was a thoroughly interesting program terminated by an address by State Senator Jerry Thomas. The next scheduled Civil Defense Meeting of Tequesta-Jupiter groups will be held on Monday, September 26 at 8:00 P.M. at Tequesta • Village Hall. An interesting program is planned.
