HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_05-02/03_11/14/2002• RESOLUTION NO.S-02/03 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING A PROPOSAL FROM ROOD LANDSCAPE, INC., TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, FORA ONE YEAR CONTRACT AWARD FOR MONTHLY SERVICE OF LAWN AND LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AT TEQUESTA PARK IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,092.00, HAVING A FY 2003 BUDGET ALLOCATION OF $31,092, AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPLICABLE PROPOSAL ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: • Section 1. The Proposal with Rood Landscape, Inc., of Tequesta, Florida, for services relative to mowing, edging, fertilizing, removing weeds, pest control, and irrigation maintenance at Tequesta Park in the amount of $31,092.00, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference as a part of this Resolution is hereby approved and the Village Manager of the Village of Tequesta is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the Village. Ballfield Maintenance Proposal For • Tequesta Park Ballfields • October 3, 2002 "Quality Landscape Services Since 1946" ~'iWF OOD SERVICE AGREEMENT This service agreement between Village of Tequesta located at Tequesta Park, Tequesta, FL 33469 and Rood Landscape, Inc., an independent contractor will be valid , 2002 thru , 2003. 1. SERVICES TO BE RENDERED AS PART OF THE MONTHLY SERVICE: A. MOWING: 85 times per year. Frequency is determined by seasonal variations. B. EDGING: All infield and warning track areas once a week. C. WEEDING & CLEANING OF PLANTED BEDS: Removal of any weeds or debris at each visit as needed using mechanical or chemical means in all infield and warning track areas. • D. FERTILIZATION: Rood Landscape will fertilize all turf as follows. 1. Every other monthly application of K Mag 0-0-22 (Help bring back high trafl<c areas) 2. Spring and fall application of Dylox for control of grubs and mole crickets. 3. Every 3 months application of 19-0-19 Pre-M (Weed control) 4. Applications will be made quarterly 13-3-13. E. PEST CONTROL: Rood Landscape will perform monthly checks for pest in all turf areas with control methods to follow if present. F. IRRIGATION MAINTENANCE: Check system once per month, perform minor adjustments, cleaning of heads and monitoring of time clock. The services in the service agreement to be provided for a monthly fee of $ 2,591.00. Including: Mowing $ 1,268.00/month Fertilization Pest Control Irrigation $ 680.00/month $ 357.00/month $ 286.00/month ***Pest Control amount in this contract is based on weed control at contract award being in the moderate to good range or will be billed on a time and material basis to bring the • turf into the acceptable range. Rood Landscape will inspect the fields at this time for weed growth. n~W~ OOD ADDITIONAL SERVICES If requested, the following services will be performed and billed on a "fime and materials" basis: A. Additional plantings. 8. Pruning of frees (over seven feet in height) or espalier of trees or vines. C. Major irrigation repairs due to malfunctions or vandalism. D. Installation of mulch or soil in planting beds or other areas. E. Spraying for pests, diseases or nutritional deficiencies. F. Removal of debris in excess of one yard. G. Liquid or granular fertilizing. Four applications per year are • recommended. Note: Current "time and materials" rates are as follows: Tree Pruning: Upon request. Estimate submitted at time of need. Spraying: $ 45.00 per man hour, plus chemicals used. Irrigation: $ 40.00 per man hour, plus materials used Mulch: $ 3.25 per bag, installed Dump Charges: $ 30.00 per yard Fertilizer. $ 25.00 per bag • n~WF OOD CONTRACT CONDITIONS D. Rood Landscape, Inc. agrees to maintain a general public liability insurance policy as required bylaw and Worker's Compensation • insurance. A copy of our current Certificate of Insurance is available upon request. A. Advance notice shall be given for any extra work when conditions permit. B. Property shall be kept neatly manicured at all times. All work is to be performed in a professional manner, according to indusfry practices. Services shall be rendered as specified, with the exception of legal holidays, strikes, accidents, inclement weather or any other delays beyond the control of Rood Landscape, Inc. C. Rood Landscape, Inc. shall provide all labor (dressed in company uniform) supervision, equipment and materials necessary for the performance of this agreement. E. Rood Landscape, Inc. is a drug free workplace, and agrees to continue this program. • F. Any repairs or extra work necessary due to hurricanes, floods, lightning or other acts of nature shall not be covered under this agreement. G. This agreement maybe cancelled by either party upon thirty days written notice. Rood Landscape, Inc. reserves the right to cease services without notice if the Owner's account becomes thirty days past due.
