HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_01-02/03_10/10/2002RESOLUTION NO. 1-02/03 • • A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING THE DEDICATION AND MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE VILLAGE BY JOSEPH N. CAPRETTA; THEREBY NAMING THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER IN THE NEW PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY THE, "JOSEPH N. CAPRETTA EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER." WHEREAS, Joseph N. Capretta has served and continues to serve the Village as Council Member, Vice-Mayor and Mayor for eight terms; WHEREAS, Joseph N. Capretta was instrumental in the development of many civic projects, including the reverse osmosis plant, the library, and the public safety facility; WHEREAS, Joseph N. Capretta helped to create the Tequesta Fire Rescue Agency; WHEREAS, Joseph N. Capretta was involved in the creation of Tequesta's Juvenile First Offender Program by his endorsement of the concept and approval of the Police Department's reorganization to allow the program to be adopted; WHEREAS, Joseph N. Capretta was influential in the success of Tequesta's Marine Unit by his recommendation to give the program cone-year trial; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Tequesta wishes to express its appreciation for his service above and beyond the call of duty, goodwill, dedication, and accomplishments rendered by Joseph N. Capretta; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Safety Facility of the Village of Tequesta shall henceforth be known as the "Joseph N. Capretta Emergency Operations Center," which shall be so designated by a plaque placed on the building exterior to remain as a permanent fixture.
