We understand that the Village originally contempla#ed awarding the clay canstructinn as a separate contract. 1Jprn further consideration, it is our understanding that this may not be in the best interest of the overall project and tlhc ballfield clay was included as an alternate in the proposal. We have been in contact with Benson Cansiruciian and reviewed their qualifications as a cantractar for this prraject according to the specifications. Their references wem investigated and the responses were generally good. As discussed, we would have preferred mc~rc bidders that included a local company. However, based an this review, we recommend that the Village award the project (base project with bid alternate) to Benson Construction ~o.
