HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_35-01/02_03/14/2002• RESOLUTION NO. 35-01/02 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE FEE PROPOSAL FROM SONG + ASSOCIATES, INC. OF WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE CONCEPTUAL SCHEMATIC DESIGN OF THE VILLAGE CENTER TO BE LOCATED AT THE OLD VILLAGE HALL/NEW PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING SITE AT 357 TEQUESTA DRIVE, TEQUESTA, FLORIDA; IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 PLUS EXPENSES AND HOURLY RATES FOR TOPOGRAPHIC DATA, SITE SURVEY, ZONING AND DEED RESTRICTIONS, AND OTHER SUCH DATA, HAVING A FISCAL YEAR 01/02 BUDGET ALLOCATION OF $150,000 IN ACCOUNT NO. 303 331 662.632 ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING- BUILDING; AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE PROPOSAL ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A Fee Proposal from Song + Associates, Inc., of West Palm Beach, Florida, for Conceptual Design of the Village Center to be located at the Old Village Hall/New Public Safety Facility Site at 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida in the amount of $10,000 plus expenses and hourly rates for topographic date, site survey, zoning and deed restrictions, and other such data, attached hereto as EXHIBIT "A" and incorporated by reference as part of this Resolution as hereby approved, and the Village Manager of the Village of Tequesta is authorized to execute the applicable contract on behalf of the Village of Tequesta. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember ~ r$,-ra ,who moved its adoption. Reese, Macon and Associates, Inc. 6415 Lake Worth Road, Suite 307 Lake Worth, Florida 33463-2907 RE: Tequesta Village Center Professional Services Fee Proposal S+A Project No. 01120 Dear Bill: Song + Associates is pleased to submit this Proposal for the Conceptual Schematic Design the Village Center to be located at the Old City Hall !New Public Safety Building site at 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. The following is a summary of our Scope of Work: • A. Architectural Services shall be limited to the Conceptual Schematic Design Phase. Our scope of work shall include and be limited to the design and documentation efforts for the development of presentation drawings for Village Council and will include one solution for the one site; 357 Site Section t (this site plan utilizes only the area east of the new Public Safety Building and north of the existing park) as shown at the Public Workshops, Summer of 2001 (refer to the attached three conceptual design concept site plans. Conceptual Schematic Design Services a. Project Administ~ ation Services consisting of conceptual Schematic Design consultation, research, conferences, progress reports. b. Conceptual Design and Documentation Services during the conceptual Schematic Design phase responding to program requirements and preparation of conceptual site plan, conceptual building functional plans relation and elevations representing architectural style. c- ~ One perspective vinette showing a view of the Village Center to establish scale, materials, character and style. d. These are presented herein for insight as to the quality of presentation that we wish tv bring to the Village Council. Upon Village Council review and approval of the conceptual Schematic besign phase of work, Song + Associates will provide continued professional design services Professional Design Services will include the Site Plan Approval Process, Standard Design Development Phases of Advanced Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, 9idding and Negotiation and Construt=liar Administration. This part of the work will be serviced under separate contract, which wiH be prepared at a later date for Owner's review and appro`ai. B. Fees Professional fees are based on an estimated level of effort for the phase tasks. For this conceptual Schematic Design Services engagement the Professional Services will be performed for a fixed fee amount of $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars). A Due Diligent Study for the existing site, such as an environmental study, is not included in the basic service and shall be performed as an additional service at the Owner's request- . The Owner shall furnish to Architect data relative to the design and construction of the project such as, but not limited to, a Site Surrey showing locations of all water, sewer, electric, drainage tines, driveway turnouts, easements, etc-, topographic information and location of trees and landscaping, soil borings and interpretation thereof, zoning and deed restrictions and other such data, aH of which the Architect will rely upon in performing its services. Any of these services requested by Owner and performed by the Architect will be billed at an hourly basis. Song + Associates shall be paid for all reimbursable expenses such as printing, reproductions, postage, long distance telephone charges, and model which may be required far project approval, in addition to the basic compensation at a rate of 1.2 times the actual amount. Schedule Meetings 8 Coordination During the engagement, we will meet with the Owner and the Owner's Representative Group (up to three meetings including one Village Council Presentation) to review our findings and recommendations and to upda#e the Owner on our progress and seek guidance and decisions on then pending matters. We will maintain our flexibility in scheduling meetings to meet the requirements of the Owner. Any additional meetings beyond the noted three shall be considered as additional services. We look forward to working closely with you and your staff. We are enthusiastic regarding the prospect of this engagement and our ability to meet your complete needs in this matter. Acceptance of this Proposal may be indicated by the signature of a duly authorized official of the Client in the space provided below. Returning a signed copy of this Proposal la the Architect will serve as an Agreement between the two parties and as a Notice to Proceed.
