RESOLUTION NO. 30-01/02
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA,
PUBLICLY COMMENDING LIGHTHOUSE CENTER FOR THE
ARTS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE CULTURAL
DIVERSITY OF ARTISTIC ENDEAVOR IN THE COMMUNITY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta deems it appropriate to publicly
commend Lighthouse Center for the Arts for their ongoing work to educate and develop an appreciation
of and interest in the arts for all populations; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to recognize Lighthouse Center for the Arts for their
ArtBridge Outreach Program which serves the community through a collaborative educational program
which provides the structure needed to bring increased synergy into the community by connecting diverse
members of the community who otherwise might not have an opportunity to meet; and
WHEREAS, each ArtBridge project specifically targets important community issues and
beneficiary groups, often bringing together cross-age youth groups intergenerational audiences including
children with the elderly. Many of the ArtBridge programs are directed to work with the challenged or
disabled, those at risk, economically disadvantaged or victims of some form of abuse and neglect; and
some are created for general population groups; and
WHEREAS, the ArtBridge Outreach Program has attracted attention as a model program and is
by other institutions desiring to implement such diverse, inclusive programs; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council wishes to commend Lighthouse Center for the Arts for their
School of the Arts, which provides year-round professional instruction in the studio arts for adults and
children from master level to introductory classes; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Lighthouse Center for the Arts is hereby publicly commended by the Village Council of
the Village of Tequesta, for providing quality exhibitions and programs which have been a valuable
service to the community, acting as a goodwill ambassador to the public and the Village of Tequesta,
Florida.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
