HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_57-99/00_04/13/2000• SOLUTION NO. 57-99/00 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES WITH IN-REM SOLUTIONS, INC. OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, RELATIVE TO TEQUESTA'S NEED TO SECURE ADDITIONAL FUNDING SOURCES AND TO HAVE A GRANT ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM TO BE BILLED AT AN HOURLY RATE OF $75.00, PLUS EXPENSES, WITH SAID FUNDS BEING APPROPRIATED FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS ACQUISITION AND ADMINISTRATION ACCOUNT HAVING A FISCAL YEAR 99/00 BUDGET ALLOCATION OF $6,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANGER TO EXECUTE THE SAME ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE. • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Agreement between In-Rem Solutions, Inc. and the Village of Tequesta providing for the acquisition of grant funds and development of a grants coordination program, Attached Hereto as Exhibit " A " and Incorporated by Reference as Part of this Resolution is Hereby Approved and the Village Manager is Authorized to Execute the Applicable Agreement on Behalf of the Village. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember Schauer who moved its adoption. '_ redo • Delray Beach, FL 33446 • (561) 496-4636 ax (561) 496-4636 "Exhibit A" CONTRACT FOR SERVICES This is a contract for services by and between the Village of Tequesta (hereinafter "Village"), a municipal corporation having its principal place of business at 250 Tequesta Drive, Suite 300, Tequesta, FL 33469-0273 and In Rem Solutions, Inc., (hereinafter "Consultant") a Florida corporation with its principal place of business at 10479 Rio Lindo, Delray Beach, FL 33446. 1. Consideration and Services to be Rendered. In consideration of the payment by Village to In Rem Solutions of the sum of $75.00 per hour, Consultant agrees to perform the services listed and described herein. Consultant shall provide Village with a monthly invoice which shall be paid • in full by Village within 30 days. Expenses shall be reimbursed by Village within 30 days of submission of an expense report by Consultant. 2. Term and Extent of Contract This contract is for the term of one year automatically renewed for successive one-year periods for a term of five years. 3. Standard of Performance Consultant shall perform all services in a professional manner and to the satisfaction of Village. If, at any time, Village determines that Consultant is not performing in a satisfactory manner, it shall have the right to terminate this contract upon payment to Consultant of all sums then owing for services actually rendered, plus expenses. • 4. Scope of Services A. Pursuit of additional funding sources for the Village. 1. Determination of the Village's most critical funding needs through meetings with Village staff, including an initial interview with the head of each department . 2. Work with Village staff to match the Village's most critical needs to the strongest potential sources of funding. 3. Work with staff to obtain all necessary information, including budgets and financial statements. 4. Preparation of grant applications. 5. Meet as needed with potential funding sources to advocate the Village's programs. • 6. Upon receipt of funding, assist staff with preparation of press releases and other public relations information. B. Work with Village staff to establish a grant administration program. Assist the Village in determining grant administration schedules and provide resources to resolve administration issues when requested by Village. 5. Village Project Supervisor Consultant shall report to the Village Manager, or his/her designee, in the course of performing services hereunder. Consultant shall not perform any work without prior approval from the Village Manager or his/her designee. 6. Charitable Purpose This contract is for the purpose of seeking additional sources of funding for the Village's government, patriotic, humane, artistic, public health, social welfare, environmental, conservation and civic purposes. All grant writing and solicitation • by the Consultant on behalf of the Village shall be for one or more of these purposes. 7. Custody of Contributions Consultant shall not, at any time, have control or custody of contributions to the Village. Dated: April 14, 2000 • Village of Tequesta Thomas G.
