Approve Change Order #2 — Water Treatment Plant Upgrades — Florida Design Contractors, Inc.
On November 8, 2018, the Village Council approved the award of the Water Treatment Plant
Upgrades project to upgrade outdated electrical and control elements at the plant as well as replace
the sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide storage tanks. To ensure the lowest price for this project, the
Village selected Florida Design Contractors, Inc. through a competitive bid selection process —
Water Treatment Plant Upgrades — in the amount of $1,801,500.00. The project was recently
completed on February 7, 2020. As part of the normal project closeout documentation a final
adjusting change order is required to reconcile the final contract price and time.
As a result, the Utilities Department is requesting a deductive change order (Change Order #2)
reducing the previously approved contract award by $14,016.96 to return the unused project
allowance to the Village. If approved, the revised total cost for the project will be $1,787,483.04.
Additionally, the proposed Change Order extends the date of Substantial Completion by 6 days and
the date of Final Completion by 43 days.
